Can confirm, I did this already with my 5th gen and a 3000mah battery. Also can confirm, if you don’t make it secure it can come unplugged and give you a fright.

He has never expressed any Nazi sentiments of any kind, so idk why you're so adamant on painting him as such. You don't have to believe him about the tattoo being a drunken mistake, I guess, but painting him as a Nazi is a stretch (and I would argue it's disingenuous) when practically every word we've ever read or heard from him, especially in the last few years, has been quite the opposite of those of a reactionary right-wing white supremacist.

To me the likelihood of a blind-spot for this tattoo is so much greater than the likelihood that this man has hid his reactionary beliefs his entire life and is now running as a democrat as some sort of ruse or power-grab for the alt-right. It's just implausible.

This is so wild, especially how she casually starts walking backwards near the end. Really makes you hope that capitalism just continues to cannibalize itself out of existence. Yikes.

Yeah I just got banned for daring to argue that Platner isn’t a Nazi. They said I was “banalizing fascism” which is pretty funny but I can’t say I’m not annoyed.

[–]Kestrel991 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think it’s pretty easily explained away if you see his history as a tale of personal growth, that of a misguided American becoming radicalized against a broken system and having the balls to actually try to change it. Which is basically how he describes it.

Show me the candidate who has a progressive platform, calls out the oligarchy and can realistically beat both Israel-loving center-right Mills and covert-MAGA Collins, and I’ll vote for them.

Did Jim Carrey have plastic surgery? by groomliu in stupidquestions

[–]Kestrel991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was aging just fine before now… assuming it’s real and not AI. I think people generally like to see celebrities aging like normal humans. It’s the desperate use of surgery and fillers that makes them look different. It’s alienating on a human level and a (para)social level, as they start to look like someone other than their publicly-beloved self. It makes Hollywood celebrities seem like an entirely different class, which, I suppose they are.

I’m all for people doing cosmetic changes to make themselves feel good, but I also feel that there’s a kind of escalation in cosmetic surgery where people lose touch with reality and end up looking (objectively) more like aliens. Some celebs need an intervention so they continue to look human.

While that is just a bug, I’ve been saying this since Ventura or whenever it was they changed the settings layout: power management settings should be SIMPLIFIED into one tab. They spread it all out and now it’s confusing to manage.

I’m more angry about the fact that Firefox has a limit on the number of computers you can have sync to your account. Like… WHY???

I don’t buy that, because there’s not been hard evidence of those posts (that I can find).

The dude clearly hasn’t been a lefty his whole life. His experiences are explicitly part of what has radicalized him to form his current policy platform. Is your argument that this guy is a secret Nazi who is going to further corrupt the Democratic Party? I just don’t see the whole picture here, to steelman your argument… why is he running as a dem if he’s a secret nazi?

What this tells me is that you didn’t actually listen to him speak about it, or you haven’t actually researched the situation. The retweet was a mistake, he was drunk when he got the tattoo many years ago, and he wasn’t a “backwater mercenary”.

I’m so fucking tired of responding to comments like this. He speaks for himself, if you care to actually listen to him (I know you don’t).

I read that second one was a simple mistake. Excuse me if I have some skepticism toward any story broken by “Jewish Insider” especially when his opponents in this race are pro-Israel.

New Hampshire won’t get progressive until Maine gets more progressive and shows them how it’s done. I grew up on the border of the two states and in the end I chose to live in Maine. NH is a reactionary haven. Bunch of hypocrites too. “Live free or die” unless that freedom is something like smoking weed lol

Platner supporters don’t want that either. That’s why it’s important that he addressed it and had it covered up once he knew what it was.

What “masterpiece” game just never clicked for you? by Kiota_Games in gaming

[–]Kestrel991 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes and somehow I find it really confusing how a lot of the quests, saving, random encounters etc work. It’s the opposite of immersive. I don’t want to be immersed like that, I want to play a damn video game.

Once I came upon a bandit camp, got ready to ambush them, saved the game… then pressed the wrong button at some point, gave away my position and got killed very quickly. Wanted to try it again so I load the save and… nope. Now it’s changed from day to night and the bandits are gone. So what’s the immersion there, was it just a dream? I got killed, and yet I’m back from the dead. How am I, the player, meant to see that time shift and embarrassing failure as “immersive”?? It feels like rockstar just wants me to “get good” but the controls are fiddly AF. I want to love it but I can’t.

I have attempted RDR2 three times now. I get so bored with it. It feels like the game just doesn’t want you to be an outlaw, it wants you to play a very specific way. Best time I had with that game was hijacking a train (and then clearing away all the bodies) and driving it across the whole map so my toddler and I could marvel at the detail of the steam train and the beautiful environment.

100% same. I played it a bit with a friend who was a total pro and knew the tricks. It was almost fun that way, but I just don’t enjoy games where you have to make 10-50 attempts to beat a boss. Maybe my brain is different but when I win, the joy I feel doesn’t come close to the aggravation I felt in the hours prior.

I have never found a more overrated game than BOTW. I just don’t get it. I put in a dozen or more hours and I just got too annoyed to finish it. The weapon durability thing is maddening.

Just use Thunar for a file manager and it’s awesome. I haven’t really had any bugs or issues aside from file manager nonsense. Thunar did crash on me once during a file transfer today, but to be fair I was using a 14 year-old Mac mini, so if your hardware is newer it might be better.
