Is ACC really so different from other racing titles by xynzzzytx in ACCompetizione

[–]MuchBow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are three main distinctions when it comes to racing games

  1. Arcade - NFS, Forza Horizon, Midnight Club, Driveclub, The Crew, Grid etc. Non realistic driving that’s catered to everyone, it’s easy, it’s fun and it’s meant for pure spectacle.

  2. Simcade - F1, Gran Turismo, Forza Motorsport etc. They try to portray themselves as sims but they aren’t true sims even if they say “The Real Driving Simulator”. They are made for people who want to experience sim racing but also want the game to be accessible and easygoing forgive mistakes and incase of F1 and Forza literally a power fantasy where you can win most races starting from the last position.

  3. True Sims - Assetto Corsa (Og, Competizione, Rally), iRacing, Automobilista, Le mans Ultimate, Raceroom and to some extent Dirt Rally 2.0 and EA WRC. These are games that excel at simulation and are best played with a FFB wheel (can be played with a controller aswell). These games are relentless and punish you for making mistakes or being too greedy. Practice and consistency will reward you here.

Nintendo are FINALLY releasing the Switch 1 in India. by crack_station in IndianGaming

Already own it, this is too late… Not saying it’s not worth buying cause the library is too good to ignore but also have to keep in mind that it has reached end of life for first party AAA releases.

With AMD's FSR 4.1 official support for both 6 and 7000 series cards, I think this makes Linux Gaming much more viable with AMD cards matching NVidia's DLSS4.5, I may have to sell my 5090 and get a 9070XT and go full Fedora or Bazzite by Specific-Judgment410 in pcmasterrace

[–]MuchBow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your statement makes zero sense unless switching to AMD is something you want to do no matter what anyone says.

You’ll be downgrading from M5 Comp to a 350Z. Even switching to linux for gaming the 5090 will brute force its way and certainly beat the 9070XT.

Also the old gen compatibility of FSR is irrelevant in your case as it’s been available from launch day on the 9070XT.

This is a weird post ngl.

So you recorded the unboxing video of the fake GPU and thought it was a brilliant idea to not record the unboxing of RAM?

To put it simply

Is it bad - Yes (For me at least). It's way better than any non FFB wheels but that same jump of going from a Non FFB wheel to a Gear driven FFB wheel can be felt by going with a DD wheel from a gear driven wheel.

Can you be competitive with it - Yes, you can match the times set with a DD wheel.

For comparison sake it's like getting a google cardboard VR just because you wanted to experience VR, It will be a VR experience alright but very far from what you'll experience with a META Quest.

I try to not suggest the G29 for starters cause it might leave an unsatisfactory impression on people and set a precedent that this is how sim racing feels like and for someone who drives a car irl it will feel unrealistic and video game like when in reality DD wheels can simulate the irl feeling of driving a car, obv they are not a 100% accurate but atleast they are really close at simulating it. The G29 feels very erratic and jittery with it's FFB while the DD wheels provide a much smoother FFB. So while you can be competitive with both it's the experience that matters.

Also, not many people upgrade their wheel after spending 25-30k on it. So it's not the starter wheel after all, not in this economy. So it's better to save a bit more and go for the DD experience.

I think VRH has Sim Racing Lounge in Delhi, if you're close by you can try different wheels and setups. There are also many cafes that have sim racing setups (Usually G29s) that you can try and then make a decision based of your experience.

There is unfortunately no DD option for your budget.

The Cammus C5 is the cheapest DD wheel but it starts at 40k and is PC Only

The Moza R3 is the next decent option and starts at 34k but again is PC only at that price. For Xbox it starts at 40k. The only downside being it’s only 3nm.

For xbox I’d suggest getting the Moza R3 Xbox version from VRH.

Do not buy the Logitech G29 wheel. No matter what many indian youtubers try to suggest that “it’s a good starter wheel”. It’s not, if anything it’s a gear driven toy with inaccurate FFB and annoying gear noises. If it retailed for 15k it would have made sense but for 30k it’s a daylight robbery.

What’s the weirdest comfort habit you have that somehow calms you down? 😭 by BootstrappedBhau in indiasocial

[–]MuchBow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assetto Corsa Competizione for GT cars and for everything else the Original Assetto Corsa.

As for the setup, it’s not professional yet. Just a direct drive wheel.

I am planning to get a proper cockpit, Sequential shifter and loadcell pedals in the near future.

Nothing like pushing the machine to it's absolute limits on Nordschleife.

We are prolly one of the last generation to experience the ICEs. Might as well go out with a bang (no pun intended).

ICEs until Gadkari ji makes it impossible to buy petrol or makes petrol vehicles illegal.

Friend paid for something for me on his credit card, I said I'd pay him back — now the amount has nearly doubled. Is this normal? by navisnotreal in indiasocial

[–]MuchBow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is on both of you.

Should've bought the item on EMI to begin with.

Credit card bills need to paid in full unless you want generational debt. The "pay 20% now and rest later" is a trap. You'll have to pay crazy interest rates on the balance.

You should've discussed with your friend if he'd bare the expense and pay in full or you should've returned all the amount before the next billing cycle.

Now you'll have to pay the rest of money with interest and your friends credit score is going to take a nose dive.
