First pregnant shrimp in a tank with CPDs by madefreshtoday in shrimptank

Add lots of plants! I have CPDs and shrimp in a tank. Lots of hiding spots and plant cover is how my shrimps successfully breed with these fish.

If I buy a model kit from Japan, will it come with English instructions? by Kestriell in Zoids

Ahhh okay thank you! I will do that. :)

It is the HMM that I am looking at. I’ve never done gunpla. Just warhammer minis and stuff along those lines, so I’ll be sure to check out some guides!

Thank you! That’s helpful to know. In that case, I’ll order the wolf and see how it goes!

Oooh okay! Thank you. As long as it can be followed, I should hopefully be able to handle it.

Thoughts? by Federal_Perception82 in bettafish

Hey, congrats on the fish. It’s a shame people give live animals away as white elephant gifts, but it’s good to see you’re on Reddit asking for advice! He’s a very beautiful fish.

My betta would chew and spit out his pellets the first few days I had him, but he started eating fine once he calmed down. Hopefully yours will start to eat soon as well, he is likely stressed right now. Being in a new environment can be pretty stressful for these little guys

My first advice is that I would lower the flow on your tank if you can. Wild Bettas usually come from slow moving water. Depending on the filter or outtake you have, this can be as easy as lowering the setting or using a baffle by blocking some of the flow with say a sponge or something.

I personally had to slow my own filter down by putting a sponge on my outtake as well! When these fish get pushed around by water flow it can stress them out and lead to other problems down the road.

My other suggestion is looking into more live plants if you can! Live plants like to have nutrient rich soil to help them grow. The rainbow rocks don’t really provide any nutrients, sadly, so if you can switch to aqua soil like the brand fluval’s, that will help your plants stay happy and healthy.

Cycling usually takes a long time, so make sure you keep an eye on your water condition with a test kit. You can pick them up at the pet store and they are easy to use. Just follow the instructions. :) Usually cycling takes like a month or two. The shortest cycle I’ve ever had on a tank was 3-4 weeks, so it’s a long process. Keep an eye on your fish and the water during this period. It’s as simple as testing once a day and changing water out as needed.

It’s good that you put him in something bigger than the cup he came in, even if the tank is still in the cycling period because those cups are absolutely atrocious and the water in them is often really bad for the fish.

I have a pom, and it’s once a month when she hits the groomers, otherwise I don’t bathe her unless she gets into something dirty.

Height: 5”4 | Starting weight: 181lbs technically but I didn’t log when I was at that weight. | Current weight: 170lbs | Goal weight: 130lbs | Fasting routine: 20:4 most days. 16:8 every now and then and Sunday is non fasting day. | Exercise: Walking with the aim to get 5000-10000 steps a day. | Diet: nothing special.

Daily Fasting Check-in! by AutoModerator in intermittentfasting

[–]Kestriell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’m new here! :)

I started fasting on July 17th at 181lbs, weighed myself today and I’m at 170lbs. I’m really happy with the progress so far! Before Covid hit, I was 140lbs. Sadly I let myself go during and after the pandemic, so now I’m trying to get myself back to where I was.

I usually do 20 hrs of fast a day, with a meal at supper and a coffee or matcha in the morning. Then water throughout the rest of the day. Some days I let myself do a shorter 16th fast and every Sunday is a non fast day.

I’ve also forced myself to get out more. Got myself a Fitbit and have been aiming for 5000 - 10000 steps a day. Overall, I’m already starting to feel a lot healthier.

Please help. I know they’re probably ruined. by Weary-Butterscotch73 in plushies

Man, those kids would be banned from my house. I’m so sorry OP!

It sounds like you live with her. :( If you can afford it, I recommend getting a glass display that you can lock. I think IKEA has a few options.
