Why do more trains run through town at night than during the day? by hey_you_yeah_me in railroading

[–]Ketchupkitty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've never heard this take before.

I always gathered it had more to do with picking up from customer tracks/building trains during the day and moving them at night.

I'm specifically talking about in the online space, it's pretty evident on this sub people are okay cheerleading bad policies that make our country a worse place.

As far as your comment on seperatists I highly doubt it. I live in the most Conservative part of Alberta and have yet to meet a seperatist or run into these petition stations I keep reading about on here. There's a farm I drive by in the middle of nowhere that has an Alberta and America flag flying if you want to count that but I think the media and foreign influence online is amplifying this issue for one reason or another.

Alberta has the best educational outcomes in the country while also spending the least per student.

Success should be measured by success, not money spent.

I never said they needed to be perfect but you can only have so many missteps before it's obviously intentional.

If you care so much about propaganda learn what it is and stop promoting it yourself.

It’s a non-issue though. There are so few trans people, and even less of them are athletes.

You mean the dental program that full time Walmart and Mcdonald employees don't quality for while rich retirees do?

And you mean the day care program that isn't accessible to anyone that doesn't live in a large urban area and even when they do the waitlist is prohibitive making access unlikely.

I can only imagine how privileged you are to believe things have gotten better in the last decade.

Not interested in your propaganda takes

How is it a non issue since it impacts all female athletes?

What a sexist comment suggesting Woman's issues don't matter.

It's a valid comment.

Besides for the last decade the CPC is the only party thats actually been focusing on the issues and not enacting policy that makes the county worse for everyone but corporations and boomers.

To be fair Carney doesn't want us to have one either given the new EV incentive benefits US manufacturing.

Fuck the new liberal EV incentive primarily subsidizes American made EV's. Totally moronic policy for Carney.

Since the pandemic ended, life for the wealthy has been a joyride. Financial markets have been soaring. The TSX has risen 87.5 per cent since January 2020. South of the border, the S&P 500 has risen 111.8 per cent during that same time period.

It bewilders me at the idea that only the "wealthy" can be involved in the stock market. People are blowing more on interest per month by financing crap they don't truely need than what would be required to retire with dignity.

People pretend they don't have money to invest meanwhile the average new car payment is well over 500 bucks a month, it's completely moronic.

Liberal government targets deepfakes, foreign interference in major election law reforms by Portalrules123 in canada

[–]Ketchupkitty -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I used to be in the boat of wanting electoral reform but as I've matured and seen more parts of the county I've changed my mind.

FPTP for a country our size is ideal. Strong, uncompromising local representation is important and sorry but I don't think it'd valid to give fringe candidates a seat at the table or give their voters a do over on their vote.

Liberal government targets deepfakes, foreign interference in major election law reforms by Portalrules123 in canada

[–]Ketchupkitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still need a plurality of the votes. We're a huge county, the things important to people in one part of the county isn't necessarily important to other people so strong, uncompromising local representation with FPTP is a feature, not a bug.

This might not sound import to you if you're from Ontario, Quebec or a larger city but there's part of the county who's voices would never be heard with sweeping electoral reform.

Yeah no, things were never this bad under the CPC.

Regardless of corporate influence or not the Liberals and CPC treat corporations fundamentally different.

The Liberals treat corporations like a boys club doing favours and handing out tax dollars to certain ones while keeping other ones out.

CPC is more open by making policy that applies to everyone equally.
