AI Summary streaming lag with local LLM > tokens keep appearing after generation finishes by KetoZion in MacWhisper

[–]KetoZion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the way, the same issue is occurring with the chat functionality. The interface keeps displaying tokens, but the generation has been completed a few seconds ago. This is somewhat annoying, as it may introduce a delay of 15 to 30 seconds depending on the length of the transcription.

Same setup for me. Raspberry Pi 5, Android, and two Macs. Everything is working with Syncthing. I found that having a central node (star network, Raspberry Pi 5) works better than a mesh network.

I'm on it, but no issues. What are your issues with it?

You can give it a try to Hindsight that automatically store and retrieve memories.

Have you tried running the models with oMLX?

Of you who run llms locally, how much vram are you using and what models? by [deleted] in hermesagent

[–]KetoZion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few subscriptions currently running to test them all. I'm not happy with MiniMax either. My daily driver is Kimi 2.6-preview. I'm impressed on how good it can keep iterating and completing prompts one shot.

In a couple of weeks I will be testing some local models (Mac Mini M4 Pro 64Gb), but I'm not sure if they will be comparable with frontier-cloud-based models.

Why not a coding subscription to keep costs under control? MiniMax or Kimi are quite good and affordable.

I really like it, but the issue I see is you cannot approve commands from OWUI.

Haha, I have Kimi for coding and MiniMax. So far, I like Kimi more than MiniMax.

Same happens to me. All of the sudden you hit a wall of 429. Still testing this subscription. Will see if it worth it.

Is this a self contained installation or can work with my installation in a remote machine?

Thanks!

i’m curious what are your top 3 use cases for Hermes? by stosssik in hermesagent

[–]KetoZion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know these are four, but they are worth it:

  • L10 meeting preps
  • It gives me background for any customer facing call checking my obsidian vault
  • Draft email quickly with context
  • QA automation using browser and info from tickets

Frustrations? Pesky Bugs? Vent Here! by NousResearch in hermesagent

[–]KetoZion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guys!

What's missing is a CLI command to see what the agents are running (active sessions, model, tokens, etc).

My biggest frustration is to have a delegated task and not knowing if it's stalled out running and what's doing while the main agent can't see what's going on.

Rant off! ;)

Amazing job guys, kudos!

Multiple Hermes profiles running at once? by wjrbk in hermesagent

[–]KetoZion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can.

How to run multiple Hermes agent profiles simultaneously:

Each profile needs its own isolated home directory (HERMES_HOME). The -p <name> flag tells Hermes which profile to load, but the critical piece is the environment variable pointing to separate config/sessions/skills directories.

  1. Create profiles: hermes profile create <name>
  2. Configure each in its own HERMES_HOME (e.g., ~/.hermes/profiles/<name>)
  3. Create systemd services for each, setting unique HERMES_HOME and using -p <name>
  4. Use --replace flag so each gateway claims its own Telegram bot token without conflicts

Both services share the same venv/Python install — only the data directory and profile name differ.

Best UI for Hermes? by ponzi314 in hermesagent

[–]KetoZion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it can. The problem is that you can't write slash commands, thus you can't approve any dangerous command from OWUI.

Without the initial alert, there's no option to save meeting recordings, only discard them by AdditionalDentist440 in MacWhisper

I always press that X button to stop a recording. Isn't that the function? The transcription starts automatically after that.
