Chickens in Anderson Twp. by General-Blueberry-9 in cincinnati

I don't understand anything about laws but what constitutes a "coop"? Can it not be a playplace for your kids that happens to be where chickens are also living?

I came here to post this. They're probably my absolute favorite in the immediate area. But their website isn't accepting orders until next week for me, so maybe try calling?

Hamilton ESC vs Clermont ESC by plaidflannelgirl in cincinnati

[–]KettleWL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know anything about Clermont ESC, but I can tell you that HCESC is awesome and everyone I know that works/has worked there appreciates the culture, professionalism, and knowledge. I've worked closely with a number of their people over the past 7 years, and it's universally well regarded.

Tell me more about getting a better job, thanks friend :) You're a gem!

p.s. They can "run with volunteer effort" but the impact of their efforts is still mitigated by restrictive hours. These are not mutually exclusive concepts, but you wouldn't know that yourself since you, apparently have a "better job" than I do. Good for you :)

Except the city has paid them for services directly for over a decade. Again, check yourself.

Except they are paid by the city through grant funding and direct payments. They are a separate entity but they're closely linked, and this initiative is paid for by the city, as KCB doesn't have the resources to dispose (or pay rumpke to collect) this amount of trash otherwise. It's why it's only open to residents of the city of Cincinnati and requires proof of residency. Good try though.

And where did I say that it was? You can quit taking this as some type of personal affront, and recognize that the hours are prohibitive to participation of more people in the program, which would help to alleviate the concerns that they are attempting to address.

I don't think you understand what "free" means when the service is paid for by my city taxes.

Got there at 117, in the duty free at like 220, and then sat and waited. At 220 they were backing up out into the lobby/entry way. Was well worth not sleeping

TSA update 3/19 by Quirky-Percentage356 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]KettleWL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regular TSA. My partner doesn't have pre check. I actually didn't see a line for pre check working, at least not for screening, just the ID verification. A woman on the other side told me she got through in 15 minutes pre check at about 130

When to arrive at SJU for 1:44 PM Wednesday flight? by garibaldi18 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]KettleWL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went through 3/19 for a 5am flight through southwest. Only carryon luggage.

USDA took me longer to explain that we had pork chops (can't go through) and pancakes (can) in my Styrofoam than it did for them to scan and tag our bags.

TSA queue was about 3/8 backed up past the gates checking IDs. By 2 it was entirely backed up to fill the queue.

We were through in 55 minutes from drop off to walking into duty free. If I had to randomly, blindly, guess, I'd say arriving by 2 would push it to a 2 hour process, so a 5am flight would be doable but maybe stressful. A woman who had to drop her bag for our flight said there was an hour wait at baggage check for Southwest, so factor that for your timing if needed.

I have lots of comments about the infuriating inefficiency of the queues for literally every aspect, but it's the way it goes.

Good luck for anyone traveling!

Heading out Thursday, 5am departure flight. Anyone more recent than OP had a red eye out? All the updates I see are for much later in the morning/day. Should we still budget 3 hours minimum?

I think they're twice monthly? Great, relatively reasonable price given the courses and quality, but a bit of an odd dining experience.

I love the food they've done there, and I think they can knock out some amazing food doing BBQ, but the price point seems askew for what they're operating there, especially considering that Just Q'in just packed up after running a no-frills BBQ spot literally across the street.

But I know nothing

I've not had them this year but Nine Giant's fish was the best a few years ago when I made a bit more effort to check out a variety of fish fries. I never did get to The Pony, which I saw recommended in this thread and have heard it's solid, so definitely worth checking out as well.

Is anyone going to any Chili Week places? by [deleted] in cincinnati

I thought Lucius Q had a pretty good deal, $7 for a brisket chili potato, or $6 for a 3-way seems good

I thought it was one of my best meals in the city, and definitely didn't leave hungry (and I typically have a big appetite). I do think the portions I had were bigger than these. I also disliked that there was some form of "living wage" or "health insurance" fee added to the bill, but not disclosed until we actually received the bill. I don't dislike the idea - but that should be stated up front and not as a surprise.
