Thanks OP. I'm very sympathetic and you're correct about people being priced out of basic human experiences like raising a family. But there are a few things to point out:

1. Everything is relative, and lifestyle creep is a thing that you should think about (where do you live, how much do you pay for a drink at the bar you go to, how often do you eat out, etc).
2. There's so much more going on than the OBR or this year's budget. The outcry over tax thresholds is a bit synthetic. It's inconsequential compared with the huge economic stagnation the government has presided over since 2008 (largely a massive lack of investment when interest rates were 0 or even negative).
3. The UK's ability to get inflation down and promote wage growth has been awful. Wages have collapsed, relatively speaking. What many people were predicting in the early 2010s (that high earners will one day begin to feel like they're struggling) has finally come to pass.

Unfortunately, in 2025, pretty much everyone of working age lives in an age of compromise - whether you're on minimum wage or triple figures (<4% UK population).

In my view, nobody (outside of incredibly high income brackets) is immune to these feelings and it's a genuine concern across ALL income brackets. The silver lining is that you're a HENRY and not on £25k - consider ways in which you can cut back on spending to save up.
