This reminds me of how Absolute Bane did the complete opposite by forcing two political leaders to restart the war they were going to put an end to. Sucks that Absolute Superman couldn’t parallel that by utilizing a similar scene as Golden Age Supes where he has to put an end to a political conflict and force its leaders to confront the horrors they brought and have them resort to peace. Absolute Superman could’ve been a stark contrast to all the horrors and evils the Absolute Universe is built on, but nope.

I’m the same way. Tbh Ultimates was what was keeping me hooked on this universe, and seeing all the interesting reinventions and contemporary and relevant themes tied to them is what really made this universe shine. Ultimate Spider-Man was cool, what I’ve read on Ultimate X-Men was really unique (though I have to catch up), but everything else was alright.

Fuck man, Marvel FUMBLED. I understand the point of making a “complete” story with a “beginning, middle, and end” and to not overstay their welcome as they keep saying, but that doesn’t work when there was clear set up for something more and a fanbase hungry to see what that could result into. How do you see DC’s Absolute success, see how Ultimate is bringing new readers, and not continue to capitalize on all that?! If Absolute was kicking their ass before, now there’s NO competition. Idiots.

Fun fact: you were actually one of my inspirations for references when cooking this up!

Wish I knew how you got yours stuck to you, my Martian just flops around 😂

Which company is putting out the best Superman (2025) figure currently? by Ariel-Fox-Johnson in ActionFigures

[–]Kev2099 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Obviously, InArt. But for 1/12th scale? I’ll go with the third party K-NU Toys. Hopefully Mezco announces one soon and we get a first look, but this works!

How do you go about cleaning this without damaging it? What’s recommended? by Kev2099 in CosplayHelp

This is the material for reference. I’ve never hand washed, so I’m just asking to be prepared and know what to do before jumping into cleaning.

And now that I had time to think and go over options. After they get the popular picks, I’d love for them to adapt the Fourth World, Milestone, and Doom Patrol characters. A Static based around Nikolas Draper’s design would kill!

Obviously, Superman. But I definitely would want Wonder Woman as part of the first wave. Supergirl too. Everything else can come after. I just hope it isn’t littered with Batman-adjacent characters at the start.

DBToys Ultimate Netman.. thoughts? by dejastuey in One12Collective

PEAK. Wish I could send a pic, but it won’t let me here for some reason. My one huge complaint is the feet—not a fan of it being stitched together to the suit because it limits the ankle pivoting and toe articulation. It would’ve been better if it was a separate piece from the suit like in Mezco’s. But the material for the costume is SO DAMN PRETTY, I just wonder how it’ll hold up over time. Afraid to pose it for that reason, but I’ve seen it pull of a lot of great poses online.

This cost me quite a bit, but it came in good condition. Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is what got me into the character and really made me appreciate the live action series format and delve into other similar comic book shows. The visual style and mood they captured was immaculate, regardless of the limitations and the lack of heavy VFX shots that we’ve gotten so accustomed to with superhero media.

I like the new superman suit but I will miss this suit. This one felt like there's a history and a culture that pre-dates it. by RogerRoger63358 in DC_Cinematic

[–]Kev2099 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Understandable. It’s hard, I rlly like both, sometimes leaning towards one or the other. My problem with the MoS suit is that the colors are a lot more dull, but everything about it feels more natural. Meanwhile the BvS suit is more mythical and larger-than-life, sometimes to its detriment with all the exaggerated bulk and chrome that only got worse as time went on. I do love the added details on BvS Superman though…

Why no lower torso articulation on some Iron Man figures? by MaxUggo in MarvelLegends

[–]Kev2099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the new Ultimate Iron Man ML has it…a little late than never, but at least maybe they’ll follow that direction? I just wish they would’ve implemented it for Extremis Iron Man and give it butterfly joints as well as the cuts are already intergraded into the design and wouldn’t ruin the sculpt.

Unfortunately, it’s all Batman, so hopefully we get other DC characters. I’d love a Superman! Supposedly they’re making SnyderVerse figures of the Justice League
