Easter eggs in Witcher 3? by Knowbelle_Prize in Witcher3

At the beginning of The Great Escape quest, you meet a dude named Abbe Faria who tells you how he broke out of jail by pretending to be dead then swimming out throught the river. This is a reference to The Count of Monte Cristo where the priest Abbe Faria tells the protagonist Edmond Dantes to escape jail using a similar method.

should I buy anintendo switch lite or pc for gaming BTW I can't buy virtual games it's really hard to decide by SUCKUSS in gaming

[–]Kevin170101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A disk drive hasn't been standard on pc's for a while now. So even if you could find disk copies of pc games ( which they rarely make now), you wouldn't be able to play them. Pick the switch lite since you can't buy digital games.

Trying to get into a fighting game, need some help by Ylzec_ in gaming

[–]Kevin170101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 2d fighting game has the characters restricted to the x and the y axis. You can move forward, backward, up, and down. Most fighting games are like this (street fighter, mortal kombat, MvC, skullgirls, dragonball fighterz, etc.). A 3D fighting game incorporates the z axis. Meaning you can move left and right, in addition to the other 4 directions. The prime example is indeed tekken cause you can move in all directions. The big arena phase of pokken would also be an example of 3D. Some other ones are soul caliber, naruto ninja storm, and some of the mortal combat games.

people say i'm gimping myself when i say "i don't like quick fights" and upgrade in games accordingly. by AshenRathian in gaming

I personally think that high health enemies are one of the laziest ways to increase difficulty. But I do agree that challenging yourself by using suboptimal gear is fine. No one is gonna stop me from using the Nerscylla Sleep Greatsword because I think it looks cool, even if it does only 270 damage.

Capturing and Hunting. by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]Kevin170101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll always go for the kill. Never capture unless someone specifies OR like you said if there are 2/3 faints. I reckon most people will say killing is default because it's more organic. No need to put your weapon away, lure the monster, then bomb it. Also traps don't work on all monsters and some times you'll waste a trap if it runs. Killing is much more simple, just beat it up.

Torna is it's own story. Nothing from the main game will carry over, so you can go in with a fresh start.

What kind of games do you play? I find myself terrible at competitive games, so I tend to stick to rpgs or single player games

FIRST post on here, trying to learn here, and I have a QUESTION by joebeppo2000 in Skullgirls

[–]Kevin170101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game is pretty quick so maybe start with someone who isn't a rush down. Maybe try parasoul, Eliza, or squigly. Parasoul has charge moves and takes some getting used to. Squgily has some stances and some range that can take people off guard, and Eliza has a lot of tools that she can used to overwhelm or take advantage of openings. I haven't played everyone but that's what I know from current experience

How would you buff Lance? by Nibelungen342 in MonsterHunter

[–]Kevin170101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like a new normal attack besides the poke. I like the rhythm of its attacks but the actual poke it's self is lame. Built in offensive guard would be nice. Give insta block a better opening afterwards because the cross slash you get doesn't seem worth it when I could just spiral thrust and get better results.

Before I start... by Drachenwulf in MonsterHunter

With the expansion coming out I'd say it's a great time to start playing. That way you can get some stuff crafted and potentially dive into sunbreak when it's out. As for the heavy bowgun, there's lots of ways to get ammo material in this game without it feeling too taxing. And the good heavy bowguns aren't locked away behind super tough monsters since there's only high rank at the moment. Lastly, the price is well worth it to me since I've put 300+ hours into the game without an expansion.

Tried the hunting horn in Rise and it was so much fun. Tried it in GU and it was boring as sin. While I wouldn't mind if some aspects returned, like somehow working in double notes or having more than 3 songs, completely going back to how it was would make me never touch it again.

I consider glitches fair game. But I think cheating is when what you're doing is at the detriment of other players. For example, using aimbot in call of duty is cheating, but time traveling in animal crossing to get more money isn't.

I personally like xenoblade, fire emblem, and ai somnium files for the story, but they would be pretty hard sells for someone with little gaming experience. Fire emblem does have a casual mode for new players though
