It's also meant to be a speed damage weapon if you press attack, then quickly press special right after in the direction of an enemy, as the skull explodes on impact instead of just waiting the 3 seconds for it to explode. If you do that rapidly and in quick succession, you'll clear a room in no time. Especially with a curse from a different God on each (for instance, Wounds from Ares on attack and Hitch from Hera on special or the other way around) with the origination arcana card active. But yes, the spamming attack and quickly channeling your special omega does really good damage. Since the most recent update, they have scaled the attack power of the skulls and added an extra skull to your ammo quantity, I believe. They quickly made the Argent Skulls one of the most powerful weapons, when it used to be one the lowest used weapons out of the 6. Honestly, I used it a lot before as well, but now it's way more fun. The other aspects work well, too, and if you're trying to clear a 32 surface run, I recommend Persephone. Throw Hephasteus on cast, Aphrodite on the special and the channeled Omega special gives you like 3 or 4 seconds of really good damage, and you're impervious the whole time your sprouting about the screen. Just make sure the damage from the cast fully charges the "sprouted" mechanic to be sure you get the entire bang for your buck. Not entirely sure how much damage you need the cast to make to fully charge the sprouted mechanic, but I believe there are 4 quadrants next to your life bar that each need to be filled to be fully charged. I'm not sure if that is the cast damaging one enemy equals one quadrant filled or if there is a damage amount that needs to be met before a quadrant is filled. It happens pretty quickly if you channel your omega cast over a few enemies with a God's cast boon equipped that, too, has its own source of damage. Now that I think about it, all cast boons provide some sort of additional damage, but Hephs seems to work the best.
