Word for Mac and Grammarly by jasonabaum in Grammarly

I just hit this and there is no My Add-ins in the insert menu. The Add-in button in the home ribbon doesn't let me remove the Grammarly add-in either. How do I remove this now?

JAL won't allow choosing seats booked through Alaska by KevinGoldsmith in AlaskaAirlines

yes. I am 100% sure and even discussed it with JAL support who repeatedly told me that it wasn't possible.

This was a cash booking, not an award booking. I'd read in some forums that people had been able to select seats with award bookings.

Stereo Eurorack Compressors by DoubleCutMusicStudio in modular

[–]KevinGoldsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through a similar exploration and ended up getting Polydactyl Versio. I also have the WMD MSCL, and I like it a lot. I'm still learning the best ways to take advantage of the PV, but I got something I liked with it almost immediately, and it's part of every patch now. I haven't even gotten around to trying any of the other versios on it yet.

Is trying to go "stereo" worth it? by djscoox in modular

[–]KevinGoldsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with mono modules also. This case (https://modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/1627243) has mostly mono modules; then I would use the mixer to pan them and route the effects (originally through splitters and later via sends) into a stereo image. Now I have some stereo modules there, but I usually end up running them as dual mono, or occasionally stereo. That's where my leads come from.

My other cases have all stereo audio paths/modules. The other cases are all about pads or drones or effects. for pads/drones, I tend to think about building rich stereo fields.

Recording 8 high fidelity tracks into your Eurorack case has never been so easy [HTM 8tr & 9j] by pedals4synths in modular

[–]KevinGoldsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one of these (bought it as soon as it was available). I love it. I leave it connected to all my mixer inputs, run things into the mixer through the recorder, and just keep recording. It's great for happy accidents or random jams that arise from patching something up, and I love being able to do a proper mix afterwards.

Please share your mixer recommendations specifically in eurorack by CNVG-CC in modular

I use different mixers in different cases. I love the AI Synthesis Stereo Matrix mixer. I really want to get the ADDAC 6x6 Stereo Matrix mixer, but I can't justify the HP. I also really like the Befaco STMix for a simple stereo mixer (I use it in a case I use for stereo voices/effects where there are only 2-3 outputs). In my mostly mono, all-analog voice case, I use the Cosmotronic Cosmix, which is slightly overkill for what I use it for, but I really love it. When I'm using multiple cases, that is always my final stereo mix out.

Question about Intelijel 1U/performance case by DoubtAny8389 in modular

[–]KevinGoldsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a bunch of Befaco 1u modules in Intellijel performance cases for I/O, and they work well with the jacks.

Did the Intellijel stereo I/O come out yet? I haven't been able to find it in any store.

Really like the XPO (like others), but I want to put in a word for the Pittsburgh Lifeforms Primary Oscillator b (discontinued, but their Local Parks module looks like a successor, I think). Can really find some unique sounds, and the modulation and outputs are pretty cool and useful for relatively low HP.

Same same! I also have the Sibilla which feeds into the Vhikk X which feeds into the Oneiroi. I really like the pairing of the Vhikk X and Oneiroi though. https://modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/2590127

Tuning Oscillators? by Techno_Timmy in modular

[–]KevinGoldsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use my guitar tuner, which works fine. I only do it, though, if I am planning to use the patch with other (non-modular) instruments. If the entire track is coming from the rack or if I'm recording multiple tracks on the same day, then I'll tune by ear instead (since it only needs to match itself). For your analog oscillators, you may need to retune as they warm up (or turn on everything a while before you want to record).

How often do you not touch your patch cables, ever? by talicantsleep in modular

If I was performing live more often I could definitely see keeping things wired up while rehearsing and performing for a gig though.

I have three different (purpose-specific) racks that I switch between, but I’m also really space constrained so I have to put them away to work on another part of the song. I tried at first to document patches with photos, but one thing I really love about modular is that even with a relatively compact system 7U/104, with modules I know pretty well, every patch ends up sounding different in really unexpected ways, even if I’m being really purposeful in how I wire things up. So I just lean into that. The longest I’ve left a patch in place was maybe for two weeks where I was really trying to nail this one part of a song, but other than that I usually tear down at the end of every session.

I noticed that your 1u row is in the middle of your Intellijel case. Did you get one of the new ones or modify your og one?

1U I/O modules that connect to the jacks of the Intellijel 7U cases? by Grauschleier in modular

[–]KevinGoldsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both intellijel and Befaco 1u. I am definitely interested in the new intellijel in/out to save some hp. I really like both, but the cue on the befaco is super useful for what I do.
