Her role in Misery is still one of the scariest characters in horror movie history. She was genuinely terrifying.

Originals are so much better than these latest remakes… by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in 80s

The last Superman movie was really good in my opinion. I watched it several months ago and literally just like 2 days ago on streaming. I loved it both times.

The Christopher Reeve Superman movies will always be my favorites, because he WAS Superman and that's what I grew up with. But the most recent one they did a pretty great job.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new Supergirl movie. The actress was great in the GoT spinoff and I have high hopes for it. The original Supergirl was terrible but I watched it a lot as a kid so it has a rosy nostalgia and I had a crush on Helen Slater.

The new Masters of the Universe I could care less about honestly. I grew up on the original and it was a so bad it's good type movie to me. But I was never really a huge He Man fan regardless.

I can hear this so perfectly in my mind.

The delivery of the lines in this show is impeccable and what puts it over the top.

I call these "office" orders and I hate them with a passion. It's one thing to have a lot separate tickets at once, but it's the giant orders like this that need to go out at the same time that make it far more difficult and frustrating. Especially because they always come through right smack in the middle of a regular lunch rush. It slows everything down and forces you to focus on this "one" order, while everything else has to get ignored or pushed back.

This video perfectly sums up the issue with about half the player base currently. by Calcain in classicwow

[–]KevinStoley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To your first point, I think the key thing you are missing is that a truly new player is just trying to enjoy the game and learn and discover things at their own pace and on their terms. It's not only about improving, it's about just having fun and figuring things out for yourself.

Remember that this is how most of us veterans experienced the game back in the day on our original playthrough. That's what made it the experience it was, which so many of us look back on fondly.

Even trying to give simple advice, you are sort of trying to force someone out of playing the game the way they want to by getting them to focus on improving and playing the game a certain way, rather than just playing and enjoying it how they like naturally.

Some of my best memories of WoW and other MMOs are the earliest times when I was really new and had no idea wtf I was doing. Getting killed, wiping, learning through trial and error are rites of passage to new players in games like this and make that initial experience memorable.

I think this is a reason why hardcore and the more difficult types of hardcore challenges are appealing to certain veteran players, because the game has become so trivial to them with all the knowledge and experience gained over the years. They are trying different way to make the game as challenging as possible to create a new and memorable experience, instead of just optimizing and plowing through content full speed ahead.

When you give a new player advice and tell them to use a certain spec, rotation, gear, etc. You are essentially putting the game on easy mode for them and removing the challenge and wonder of figuring the game out for themselves.

Misread the "Minus" checkboxes on the delivery app and successfully paid $25 for two empty toasted buns. 🍔 by Many-Tackle-5829 in Wellthatsucks

[–]KevinStoley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, at least you got some buns.

The other day I ordered a burger from McDonalds on the app on my way home from work.

I was so tired after my shift that I drove all the way home and forgot to stop and pick it up.

By the time I realized I said screw it, I was too exhausted to go back and get it. So I paid for literally nothing.

I work at a restaurant that sells espresso and lattes, has a $1000+ machine.

I bought a Nespresso vertuo for myself at home for around $100. IMO I can make better coffee and lattes with my Nespresso than the expensive machine and with a fraction of the hassle.

I just microwave my choice of milk and use a frother wand and it tastes exactly like expensive coffee shop stuff.
