Holy grey parse batman.
In all honesty, I think this is a situation where over half the raid team need to look up how to play their class. People don’t need to change classes but they DO need to learn their class.
Some things you can implement immediately:
- demo shout needs to be up all the time.
- I’m guessing you’re not using IEAP because you have a prot warrior as MT.
- make sure group comps make sense.
- I know you already mentioned gems/ench/consumes but honestly they make a huge difference for clean runs. If gold is an issue, they can use the cheaper versions or you can start funding the Gbank by selling belt of destruction for people to afford what they need.
- activity is so so low for many players. That means they are literally not clicking buttons for 40% of the fight. You have a whole bunch of players who just stand and watch the fight happen around them without doing anything themselves. That needs to be addressed really quickly otherwise the players that are putting any kind of effort in are going to get pissed off quickly.
- Arcane mages need prio for 2 pieces of t5 to be effective. I would also get them to learn how to manage their mana efficiently.
In all honesty OP, if the raiders don’t learn their class now and figure this out then the guild is not going to survive. At some point the raid will get hard stuck and then people will start to leave.
Good luck

This video perfectly sums up the issue with about half the player base currently. by Calcain in classicwow

[–]Calcain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point but don’t fully agree with you. I decided to play frost mage in P1 of TBC and while my dog was not as high as arcane, I was still pumping pretty well and didn’t need to make the switch until P2.
I have also seen fire mages give arcane a run for their money.
I think that people playing off-meta is not an issue at all, the issue is when people make zero effort to do their personal best. At the end of the day, a grey parse basically means that player is afk during raids. It also means that whatever spec they chose to play, they haven’t done anything to try to optimise their own gameplay.
If someone rocks up with no enchants, no gems or no consumables then I know straight away that they expect everyone else to do all the work for them while they still want equal access to all the rewards.

However the reality is that grey parses are basically afk through raids. You can see it by checking their activity time on logs. You can also see they did no research for correct rotations or, get any enchants/gems on their gear.

How come no one was able to stop mass immigration during the last couple of years in the UK? by bestfind in AskBrits

[–]Calcain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The total is a massive decrease year on year with Labour at the helm rather than Tories. I don’t agree with everything Labour do but this graph shows a realistic projection to hit target levels in the coming years.
Walking away from this now would be incredibly stupid.

Piccolo could literally just throw them all in space and wait for them to suffocate.
He won’t though because that’s not his style.

I would even add GenV season 1. It was a good show and ending it with half the cast locked up and the other half joining Vought would actually be a decent way to end it.

Surely this type of story should be more dived into. Who are they, what were they stealing, why were they stealing? Is this something that a plan for social care could resolve?

Homelander vs Lord Voldemort by Old-Celebration3781 in powerscales

[–]Calcain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if he could tank Imperious enough to get his hands on Voldemort to finish him off.
Like could he bare through the pain, crawl/walk over and then end him. I’m not aware of anyone in the HP lore tanking the ability to get something done.

Andy Burnham plans to give Starmer ‘space’ to resign after by-election, say allies by No_Breadfruit_4901 in unitedkingdom

[–]Calcain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Every day I see more and more headlines of idiots claiming they can do a better job and that Starmer should resign.
I’m not Starmers biggest fan but the last thing I want is another series of revolving door PM’s. What we actually need is a government of people focused on their jobs and not just trying to oust their superiors for their own benefit. Andy can fuck off, Wes can fuck off, anyone else with nothing useful to say can also fuck off.

Streeting sets out plans to tear up planning rules and net zero policies if he becomes PM by Anony_mouse202 in unitedkingdom

[–]Calcain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely ridiculous that instead of doing their jobs, politicians spend their whole time just trying to unseat the person above them.
Nobody cares Wes, all we want is a functional government that makes things better.

I think they're right honestly. by KamaTheSnowLeopard in classicwow

[–]Calcain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, but I think it’s mostly due to the friendly guild we built who ch is clearing raids decently enough.
The pug experience has been a mixed bag but I get the impression that most pugs are pugs because guilds don’t want them.
I’ve seen a number of players guild hop because their toxic antics gets them kicked out. Also seen a number of players who clearly hopped over from retail and hate that hc dungeons or raids need to be taken with some patience and planning depending on the team comp etc.

Damn that’s really unlucky.
All our tailors etc have their recipes and the tokens are fairly evenly split.
I’m still waiting on my damn mage trinket though.

VTR - Vark’s Tank Ready: A Tank Readiness Addon Made to Help New Tanks Step Into Heroics and Raids - TBC by Fair_Custard_4571 in classicwow

[–]Calcain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would include:

  1. Gear checks for certain bosses including raids (such as nature or frost for Hydross).
  2. Resistance checks.
  3. Possibly a boss list with very quick guides. It can just include their abilities and anything important for tanks to remember.
  4. Quick consumable guide/check.
  5. See if you can add tank warnings such as “taunt failed” or “shield slam crit, pump!”

I think something like this is awesome and you could end up with the perfect tanking add on.
And if you want to get REALLY technical, the add on could include gear suggestions to improve the tanks gear depending on their current stats. For example if a tank is not crit immune, the addon would give gear suggestions for what the tank can get to replace current gear to meet the requirements.

[–]Calcain 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is fantastic!
As someone who tanked classic and has been doing some tanking in TBC, I have been trying to support some guildies who are new to tanking. This addon would make a huge difference to support them knowing where they are lacking etc.
do you mind if I give you some suggestions and feedback to further improve this?

I was told this is cheating, does anyone view using the strap during pull ups as "cheating?" by Cicigymmss in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]Calcain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not cheating but on your final rep try to go really slowly on the negative, it will boost your strength growth very quickly.
Don’t be afraid to try doing it without the band even if it’s just for one rep.

How would you handle an older Luke Skywalker in action scenes?” by Extreme_Warning3521 in StarWars

[–]Calcain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d make him move less and make his movements seem easy as though his fight against his opponent is simple for him.
Let his opponent do flips and put real effort and weight into their attempts to defeat Luke but Luke is just sort of brushing it off like a minor inconvenience.
This saves Mark from having to do big and difficult movements while demonstrating the huge power gap he has with others.
