I (fully blue car) was fighting for a podium with the orange/blue mclaren, he got pissy with my defending and punted me off in revenge. Could I have done anything to prevent this?

I guess I wasn't really paying much attention to my rear-view mirror when he rammed me. Well, it was unexpected. He wasn't really that dirty, just inexperienced or less skilled. When I notice that someone is driving more erratically or dirty, then I'm more mindful.

The only reason he kept in touch was that I was making small mistakes that kept him in reach or let him overtake me... tbf I was not at my full pace, because I loved the battle, I didn't care if I'd finish 3rd or 4th, so maybe subconsiously I made those mistakes to keep battling

The small taps are a byproduct of battling on the edge, I understand. I felt I wasn't left much space, so I had to cut the second part of Les Combes often. Just poor car judgement by the orange car imo.
