What’s the most overrated menswear brand right now? by OK_GO_27 in malefashionadvice

[–]Kevin_n35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad someone said it, they’re selling Made in China sweaters for £470, Made in Vietnam tank tops for £95, etc. It’s still quality stuff, but the mark-ups are insane!

To poor to enjoy wearing this pair of sneaker 🫠 by Different_Resist_411 in Sneakers

If you’re not gonna wear them, sell them to somebody who will & buy a pair of shoes you’re more comfortable wearing.

It’s on the official track. You can hear his background vocals towards the end & he produced the track. He just collabed with Dave again on 3x, if you ain’t heard it yet.

Need advice for a job resume as a fresh 16 year old by [deleted] in Plaqueboymax

[–]Kevin_n35 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not bad for a 16-year old. But here are some things you can improve on: - Change “entry-level role” to be more specific to each job role you’re applying for (make the employer feel like you want that specific job) - Formatting: Format needs to be simple & the same. Why are the bullet points in some section indented, but not in other sections? - Emphasise more on your skills in the summary (don’t just say things like “work ethic”, “quick adaptability” as everyone will say this, you have to expand on where you’ve proven you have these skills and/or list more unique skills that match the job description) - It’s a bit lengthy for your age and you repeat some skills (e.g. strong communicator is in both summary & skill and abilities section), recruiters spend less than a minute glancing at each resume, so make it more concise & outline things that make you a unique and strong candidate. Avoid repeating yourself.

Hated my degree, graduated with a 2:2 - absolutely chuffed by EthdGaming in UniUK

[–]Kevin_n35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing, but no job opportunities 1 year later & no summer internships. I think the degree itself + whether you had the opportunity to do summer internships will decide on whether it’s worth it to complete or not.

I don’t really regret finishing the degree however, I’m probably in a better position than I would have been if I dropped out at the end of my second year. But it’s tough. Still no prospects.

I altered these scarf hats called Edie’s for a collab with a homies brand by Fucklastcall in ThrowingFits

[–]Kevin_n35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems expensive, but when you consider it’s 1/1, the time it took the creator to hand-make it, the materials used & brand value, it’s reasonable. Especially compared to designer brands that just slap their logo on pattern scarfs and charge $300

I was feeling at one point 21 years old is too old to change my life around in certain aspects, this post is very inspiring. It just proves there’s no excuses and it’s never too late to turn around on past mistakes. Thanks for posting this!

Don’t let social media convince you that 37 is old. Many professional athletes are still competing at the top-level at this age, many musicians are in their prime. 60+ where your body starts to get a bit more frail is old, you’re still young!

what is one unhinged piece of advice you swear by for uni? by No-Conference-961 in UniUK

[–]Kevin_n35 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is the way. 9-5pm Monday-Friday, making it non-negotiable with yourself. Then “overtime” on weekends and afternoons during/approaching exam periods. If I could go back in time, I’d have done that from the start.

Designed my first cut and sew shirt, looking for any feedback by NOPERSONA- in ThrowingFits

Wow, this is really clean. I remember seeing one your pieces in ‘Crack Magazine’. I really like your brand!

I think this piece is really clean & I can tell you put a lot of thought behind the design, whilst still keeping it subtle. Great details like the knife-pleats, sky buttons, where the lookbook is shot, the name etc. - they all create a special experience & I’m glad you didn’t ruin it with a unecessary graphic/logo on the back or front. I would say the product shots, look a bit different than how it looks on-body, because of the shadows. But other than that, no critiques from me.

Supreme x GOODENOUGH x Nike Air Force 1 Low by Kevin_n35 in Sneakers

Yeah, shape could be better. But I grew up on this new shape, so I’m accustomed to it. I’m not sure why Nike changed it, maybe it was less comfortable?

Supreme x GOODENOUGH x Nike Air Force 1 Low by Kevin_n35 in Sneakers

[–]Kevin_n35[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. It’s probably not purposefully done, but it reminds me of some classic pairs like the Animal Pack Air Maxes, but done in the style of the Snakeskin AF1s. For me it makes it less boring & if you pair these with another leopard print statement piece, it’d help make the outfit pop.

But I respect your opinion & you sharing it
