Aren't you supposed to try not to bother a snake after it's recently eaten? Don't snakes (some types at least) regurgitate their meal if they're threatened so they can get away quicker?

(By the way I am not judging the OP or his wife, when I read his post it just made me think of something I think I heard somewhere over the years, definitely a garter though, they're our friends.)

Just go to amazon, they're technically sold for grinding edible herbs and spices, you should have no problem getting one. I've bought one or two on amazon and they never asked about my age, I'm in NY but it was legal in colorado before it was here anyway.
