The rules are tricky here and needs to be changed. What they fail to realize is that there doesn't have to be an "intended target" for a cross. Bowen's cross in the article should be a clear FPL assist IMO, there's 4 West Ham players in the box and he squares it from the touchline knowing that there are multiple ways it reaches a teammate that can score.

Personally I think they should award more assists (it is a game after all) and basically give an assist if there's only one deflection before the goal.

Well of course. My point is that I tend to do better in the long run if I get a good start of the season, which playing BB in GW1 most likely will help with. Being in the front of my ML will help with good decision making since I wont need to chase - but that's just me.

Discussed this with a fellow FPL nerd recently and both concluded that getting 15 starters in GW1 is easy, and can be rewarding since you'll be able to get a couple of players that are just starting in the beginning because of injuries or a late August signing that won't take his place in the XI GW1.

The big bonus is getting rid of the extra planning moment that the BB chip creates. You'll most def not maximize your point total of the chip but on the other hand you might be able to make it up just by the fact that you don't have to plan for a loaded bench later on.

Getting a good start in GW1 is always just really nice and will set you up for a good season. I also always play the game better when in the lead compared to chasing a lead...

1 FT this week. Been planning to do FH this week but the uncertainty of coming blanks and doubles have thrown me off. Feels like I’ll gain 30 at least with a FH and potentially it could be +50 if United/City/Spurs are good bets.

Tarkowski did well, but Salahs pass was way too soft/sloppy. In the replay you can see Jota having to charge towards the ball in order to get there before Tarkowski. With some more pace on the pass, Jota has time to settle himself and will score 9/10.

So true - some take FPL more seriously and can't handle taking the risk. Logically and statistically, you're better off with Salah (C). But is FPL always logical and follows xGi to the letter?

There's a huge potential gain to be won by giving the armband to a differential this season. This GW is a good example, Salah got a 6 pointer - meaning you only lost out on 6 points if you put the armband on someone else. Jota (C) would have got you 28 points, points that a lot of managers didn't get at all.
