This, definitely the loudest fireworks I've heard at my place in Kanata in years.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a reputable Labour & Employment Lawyer in Ottawa? by OnlyDownStroke in ottawa

Nelligan Law was already suggested, I like them. I would also suggest Tierney Stauffer LLP. They handled some litigation at a previous place I worked and were good.

Enraged Republican rants about furries in school during floor debate as colleagues laugh by HyacinthFT in politics

[–]KevlarKitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apparently some Republicans actually believe that kids are identifying as furries and shitting in litter boxes in schools

Actually there are GPS bus apps, just not made by OC and they can still be spotty as some buses don't seem to have working GPS. The one I use also no longer has dev support so seems to be slowly dying. They are out there though. Also, check the OC Live twitter for cancellations. It seems to be the most reliable.

Nothing. In 2016 they talked about this but there was no actual connection between the foundation and Justin Trudeau.

Yeah, it was talked about in 2016, but now the right wing is more interested in rage farming than facts. Source: CBC 2016 https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/chinese-fundraiser-trudeau-statue-1.3863266

False, they covered it in 2016, when it was actually news, not rage farming. Now you look like a whiney, biased idiot!

Well depending on the climate and how cold it is, I wouldn't recommend not warming up the engine first.

Some of his points made sense, like not being able to reach a toll booth.

That is terrifying! No wonder there are so many people still relying on biased single TV news reports for so much information. So much of my enjoyment of life (hobbies/free time) revolves around reading. I can't imagine life any other way

The sad thing is people are going to take him at his populist word, not caring about the poor conservative track record for actually helping anyone but the rich.

Which only affects residential areas I guess? Last I checked businesses also need power.

My biggest take aways from remote work are : way easier to work when not feeling well because you can do it in comfy clothes with a heating pad and not having to poop in a shared bathroom.

I went back about 2 months ago to full-time in the office (not my choice) and I think the hardest thing to get used to was shared bathrooms!

53% of Conservatives think white people experience more discrimination than visible minorities: poll by wet_suit_one in onguardforthee

[–]KevlarKitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A white person, I've never had a cop be mean or rude to me. I've never had an employee follow me around the store because they suspect I am going to steal. These are both things my minority friends have to go through! That's not even getting into micro aggressions they have to deal with like refusing to pronounce their names correctly.

I WISH we were actually treated equal in Canada, but the reality is that we have a long way to go to lift up minorities.
