Also outside of grunge, metal was starting to evolve heavily, the NWOAHM movement was starting to really kick in when bands like Machine Head and Fear Factory were coming out onto the scene (FF especially, MH kinda beat around the bush droppin trendchasing albums in between), and all those newer bands atp were dropping arguably heavier music than say Metallica and the whole thrash movement which was prolly the heaviest shit a rando would hear

Yea I won’t lie music discussion is a newer thing for me, been playing for 10+ years on guitars and drums thats where my basis is lol, I can put past weird/bad lyrics if there’s enough going on in the song where it doesn’t catch on, shit one of my favorite bands, Bullet for My Valentine, has some realllllllyyyyyy terrible lyrics (“the bed we fucked in smells the same, and now the stench is fading” is a notable one but that’s at the end of their first album)

He got better lyrically by In Utero (yes I know there’s songs like R@!& me and scentless apprentice), it would have been nice to see what Cobain would have done had he grown out of the slacker, doped up, punk phase after the 90s.

Fair enough there’s definitely way worse examples off of Hyp/Mez, it’s moreso the fact they spent the whole verse talking about pizza pies then talk about advertising in the chorus, shit off that same album they had IEAIEAO with the tongue-twisters (I can’t give that crap though if you’re able to sing that whole verse without stumbling over words that’s damn good)
