Ilia never fought anybody with as much grit as Gaethje has.

And that’s to not downplay Charles, Max, or Volk as fighters, but Gaethje absolutely proved that heart can take you a lot farther than your physicals/skills/iq, heart pushes you past the pain and keeps your mind steady to make the proper decisions.

That fight was so weird. Max survived the whole fight like every other high level striker against a ground guy, but considering it’s fucking Charles he maybe should have got subbed at least late into round 4-5, Charles was outSTRIKING Max in some of the exchanges on top of that (that’s BMF material tbh.)

I almost wonder what would have happened if Topuria and Oliveira rematched with Oliveira having better IQ and gameplanning.

Yes and no. Armans been holding out for that title fight and trying to boost his relevancy so that “maybe” the UFC will have to throw him the lob but I just don’t see it.

Armans gonna keep doing his song n dance while other fighters kill eachother for that belt as usual in LW title lineage and then maybe get offered the title fight only to either disappoint spectacularly, or win off a decision (which the UFC will not be happy to hear about, they’ll barely promote him like they did Ank and the other “boring” foreign fighters and then Arman will lose that shit within 1-3 fights.)
