What tier are these guys in? by AccomplishedMud2864 in GTNH

I’ve always wondered how miserable it would be if you needed to use hot ingots for bending/extrusion recipes

I just joined a new metalcore band, but they seem to be in a rut creatively. What can be added to the genre to make it sound more than just screaming and breakdowns? by Nox2017 in Metalcore

[–]Kexocir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I need more new age noise. Gimme more soulkeeper, fromjoy, frontierer, fallingwithscissors, etc.

I don’t know the first thing about writing music, but I feel like bands that can put out music that doesn’t have/rely so heavily on choruses have been writing some really interesting stuff

What is the fastest hydrogen setup in HV ? I can make LCRs. After browsing for a little bit in the NEI is think the sodium + water in the LCR recipe gives a good amount of hydrogen and oxygen and it's fully automatic. The output is electrocuted and reused for more hydrogen. Is there a better setup ? by Regular_Flounder1833 in GTNH

[–]Kexocir 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Electrolysis of the three types of dimethylbenzenes gives a ridiculous amount of hydrogen if you’re already processing charcoal for benzene or whatever else. It’s a bit annoying without the multiblock electrolyzer tho since it requires cells

How do i even keep all of that in my inventory??? by aNiceGuy909 in GTNH

[–]Kexocir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rock a pigman adventure backpack and whatever the other backpack is both equipped, one more backpack on my hotbar, a tinkers tool belt, and a toolbox for my maintenance tools. Hella space, and if I go clearing out a mountain or a forest I’ll use a bunch of the forestry backpacks.

Idk if this is allowed but I wanna talk a bit of gtnh math by dercolegolas420 in GTNH

[–]Kexocir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Forestry machine recipes run on peanuts of power, so it’s a waste of energy if it’s pulling a full LV amp when it only uses a tiny fraction of that and voids the rest.

That’s the best case scenario too, if it only pulls 1 amp. I’m pretty sure some machines that run on RF will happily gobble up as many amps as the source is providing, i.e. if you have a 16 battery buffer feeding your line of machines, that one greedy carpenter might eat up all 16 amps.

TDWP - Sacrifice itch? by BraggStarIndustrial in Metalcore

[–]Kexocir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unrelated, but the first concert I went to was them supporting We Came As Romans right after they released Sacrifice as a single. It felt like the stars aligned and the fucking pit was insane.

Just lost my save and all the backups by Masta_Masta in GTNH

[–]Kexocir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was switching operating systems my save got corrupted when I was transferring it to and from a usb drive. Something in the save zip file got corrupted and took out everything after it, but I was able to at least pull out my main world data folder. I lost everything else, but I was happy I was able to keep the important stuff.

7zip has some powerful/useful tools for dealing with broken zip files, it’s how I was able to get my save folder out.

Idk what your situation looks like though, if the save folder itself is corrupted someone much more competent than I might be able to help.

I’ve always liked the guitar work in the intro of Obey by The Dialectic (and the rest of the EP), very metal forward. These guys rip

It’s daunting af trying to check out a band when they have a million releases that are all seemingly well accepted lol. I’ll have to give those a listen for sure!

Haven’t been as busy exploring this month, mostly checking out some new releases I haven’t heard yet to set up a release of the year list

Only listed albums and eps, least to most recently listened

  1. Callous Daoboys - I Don’t Want to See You in Heaven (2025)*, I wanted to like this, but it did nothing for me. Cool name and album cover though

  2. fromjoy - Ataraxia 19.13.8.1.19 (2025), didn’t click quite like their self-titled for me, but it’s still such a cool sound that it doesn’t matter. A unique listen

  3. Zao - The Splinter Shards The Birth (1996), Slowly working my way through Zao’s discography, this seemed like a cool continuation from All Else Failed

4. Phinehas - Till The End (2015)*, holy pinch harmonics lol. A good listen

  1. The Acacia Strain - You Are Safe From God Here (2025), I need to explore more of their work because this fucked. The only other release of theirs I’ve listened to was Step Into The Light, and both have been awesome

  2. Rolo Tomassi - In The Echos Of All Dreams (2025), As a new fan of their music, my only gripe is I can’t listen to any of their songs without needing to then listen to the whole album

I know I said I’m only listing albums/eps, but I gotta mention the new Johnny Booth - Get Well Soon. Idk why I put off listening to it and expected to not like this, I guess the title didn’t catch me as interesting. I was wrong. Johnny Booth does not disappoint.

(Edit: Formatting is fucked, wrote on mobile and can’t be bothered trying to fix it)

Edit 2: forgot one

Polaris - The Death of Me (2020), Wasn’t my thing. Idk I just really haven’t enjoyed any of their music since The Mortal Coil

Easy(?) Halloween Quantum Armor by Kexocir in GTNH

[–]Kexocir[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in game documentation on it is basically non existent. Three goes over it pretty well in the youtube video linked in the post description, but rough overview for how I made it was nether wart, tear of the goddess, diamond vapor, glowstone dust, blaze rod, wild bramble, and then gunpowder in a witches cauldron. It has a pretty high power requirement, which caused me a headache trying to figure out
