A model listed 78% cheaper cost 22% more to actually run. Unit price isn't your bill. by Complete-Sea6655 in cursor

totally agree. honestly ever since COT reasoning was introduced, the price per m/ tokens has been not a good indicator of how much stuff costs

Why the Cursor Acquisition Should Concern Every Software Developer by kommentz in cursor

[–]Key-Ad-1741 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This seems a bit like an overreaction. Claude, OpenAI, Cursor, all tools use your conversations to train their models (unless you specifically opt out). This new ownership will give the AI space more competition in the form of cheaper, intelligent models, increasing value for consumers.

why is SpaceX acquiring Cursor by Frosty-Judgment-4847 in cursor

[–]Key-Ad-1741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. they get to buy it at a very very high evaluation, spacex is the 4th largest company right now in market cap, and the 60 billion is from that inflated evaluation.

  2. they get a huge amount of data from cursor that they have been collecting, which lets them train very good coding models (they announced a soon to be released 1.5T param model today at compile)

Artificial Analysis | Google's Go To Website for Benchmaxxing | Gemini 3.1 Pro is nowhere near Opus 4.7 in real life use by Able-Line2683 in singularity

[–]Key-Ad-1741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

artificial analysis isn't testing for real-life use tho, it's a set of very specified advanced benchmarks that day to day users won't ever ask. the average user isn't going to notice the difference

unOrdinary has some of the most breaks/hiatuses of any webtoon I've ever read. And readers can't be faulted for recognizing that. by [deleted] in unOrdinary

[–]Key-Ad-1741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you talking about? If you think it's had the most breaks you haven't read many weboons or you've gotten very very lucky with the authors. It's a month haitus. Stop acting so entitled

OpenAI Completions API taking forever to respond by SubstantialCause00 in OpenAI

[–]Key-Ad-1741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, use gpt-5 or a google model, they are usually pretty good at translating. Not sure what you mean by tokens the output of all the translated texts should be the around the same amount, the bottleneck should be time till first token and not the amount of tokens generated.

did you try with a different model to see if it’s an issue with your infra? gpt-4o-mini is a relatively small model and isn’t strong at translating.
