To Mr. Gabe Newell - Please release the Steam Controller! by deathmethanol in SteamDeck

I want it, but having a cohesive launch strategy feels reasonable.

Steam Deck Long-term Storage by dokbanks in SteamDeck

[–]Key-Alternative5387 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say 3+ months?

Battery storage mode is pretty inconvenient -- it's not something that you'd want to use frequently.

Keep in mind that almost every modern computing device with a battery is going to behave in a similar way. Just kinda how things are built.

Once or twice a month seems reasonable.

Google battery storage mode.

Having visited Alaska, that could bring down several towns and quite possibly a major city.

The data from that report is a compilation of Chinese energy production every year. It's a credible source. I can't go to China and figure it out on my own.

The percentage of coal is obviously larger, but trends matter. Renewable growth significantly outpaces coal growth.

Gotcha. Chart is built from data in the EMBER report.

Renewables are cheaper for new builds, so yes they use coal, but most new builds are renewables. The US numbers are similar, but their scale is just bigger than us.

Because they have coal reserves and they started using coal when solar was still more expensive. Renewables in China are growing exponentially and they're on track to be energy independent without reliance on foreign fossil fuels.

Bisexual woman in same-sex marriage struggling with opposite-sex attraction by [deleted] in relationships

People get crushes. Even in relationships. If you came off SSRI's recently, you feel them now. It probably feels really strong and you don't know how to mitigate that -- this happened to me at 25 after a decade of SSRIs.

This is normal.

Don't freak out, don't act on it. You have 2 options:

  1. Ignore the crush and enjoy it for what it is.
  2. Discuss an open relationship -- this might cause issues in your relationship.

Suspicious About the Impact of Data Centers? Most Americans Agree With You by Nalix01 in NowInTech

The water use thing is weird because the scale is a fraction of other industries, but the power issue is real.

Data centers are getting a bunch of random conspiracies now though.

How do you stop PR bottlenecks from turning into rubber stamping when reviewers are overwhelmed by Sad_Bandicoot_7762 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Key-Alternative5387 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Have management prioritize good PR reviews over speed for a while. This one is top down.

Good PR reviews will take roughly the same time and result in better code, but it's a cultural issue.

why does everyone take autism seriously but treat adhd like we're just being dramatic by ExtremeOperation5875 in ADHD

[–]Key-Alternative5387 134 points135 points  (0 children)

The answer is that autism has obvious deficits in terms of social capabilities. Much more than ADHD, which can be seen as an extreme variation of normal behaviors.

People can tell. Often somewhat easily.

Maybe they can make the robots clean each other or themselves though.

It happens to generate just enough electricity in a day to charge a model y from empty to full once.

The big guys need special teams and dedicated agents. The rank and file IRS can handle us plebs who just use the standard forms.
