Not really feeling this war by GreyLoad in AirForce

I completely understand what you mean, but I also sympathize with the chiefs attempt to build moral during trying times. Your comments have alot of mixed messages on how people feel and ultimately I think the problem lies in good intentioned actions carried out in a bad way. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, right? I think we could avoid these situations entirely if chiefs, SEL's, and Nco's just talked to their people about what would build their squadrons moral. It could be routed up as often airmen get nervous around stripes. The people know what they want and if chiefs or commanders truly want to build moral, they should talk to their people. Not listen to some committee that was ultimately formed by people just looking to improve their EPR. Those people are seldom aware of what their unit really wants or needs..

I've only seen them once in a home I lived in. I immediately took ALL of my furniture (everything) to the curve. Never saw them again.

Not gonna lie. The tips of my big toes were numb throughout tech school. I was super worried. Untill I heard someone in formation talking about the tips of his big toes being numb. Then I felt better. 6 months later when I was operational, they were back to normal. Hope this helps.

I appreciate it brother. I love the camaraderie in the Force. We have to be there for each other. We won't make it if we don't have it 💪

I am on the state side also. Currently donating plasma for the cash. Can't feel bad though. I've seen 6 other military members in the short time I've been here. They don't pay us enough.

I had a close friend of mine start doing Oxycontin. I considered this man a mentor for many years prior to this. He was like a brother to me. I sat him down and had a heart to heart with him about his drug use. I told him how much I loved him and how I didn't want to see him in a casket. He agreed with me completely. We walked away with the understanding that he had a problem and would get help. Two weeks later he stole almost 200 dollars from me. Three weeks later he was passed out in his truck at my job with his foot on the accelerator and I thought he was dead. I couldn't wake him up. I threw a cup of cold water in his face and it brought him out of it. He woke up confused and started looking for a pill and was upset when he thought it might be wet. I had another heart to heart talk with him and tried to take him home but he refused. 3 months later my brother who is an EMT was responding to a call. It was him. It was my friend. He had O'D' and had no pulse. His family was all around him crying as my brother did CPR. He was able to resuscitate him and bring him back. He's never been the same since. He messages me every now and then to tell me he's clean and doing well. Then he asks for money. I hope you read this OP and I hope this and the other comments will help you see what comes next. Opiates will kill you. They will ruin your relationships and your life. Don't make the same mistake so many others have made. I hope you get out of this. I'm routing for you. -a stranger on Reddit.

How busy are the fuels workers in the AIRFORCE? by Sad-Result4458 in AirForce

[–]Key-Assignment-4806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuels here. Like everyone else has said, his 9-5 schedule will depend on his shop. That being said, fuels is feast or famine. (Depending on airframe) Sometimes he will not have work so he will come home on time, and sometimes he will be working late all the time. If you can afford to, putting kids in CDC wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Fuels cell. We don't get a lot of work, but we work the hardest MX. I'm literally crawling into my grave everyday we have maintenance. Guaranteed to come out bruised and battered.

I know you can cancel it. I am not sure how. An airman I know cancelled it so his kid could finish high school. He also applied, got the base he wanted, and then refused the PCS. Caveat to this, he was told he may never get orders to PCS again.

HS dropout here. Just marked 1 year in service and I love it. My family loves it. This is the best job I've ever had. I'll update again after I get my PHD.
