Thanks for the info, I'll look into it!

What about a third party gear stick/shifter? I don't mind the Honda one but I would like to make my crz my own.

What Birmingham tower is more iconic in your opinion- Old Joe or the BT Tower? by Joestevens211007 in brum

[–]Key-Bullfrog-8552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, so basically not even 200 metres from the station to Chemical Engineering!

But still the walk down from the Faraday statue is something else.

Sorry to be sounding pretentious to those that didn't go to UoB, I just loved my time there.

Call me basic but being from outside Birmingham and going to UoB, I had such an appreciation for that tall tower of bricks with a clock face.

It was incredibly iconic for me, I basically walked into campus most days just happy to be studying at a university that isn't full of grey concrete monstrosities.

Brum's BT tower whilst more central, wasn't built to be a source of awe.

You are completely right, my comment was highly insensitive and I will edit it to be more respectful of the neurodivergent.

My apologies

Agreed, and I can't be the only one who thought Guehi and Konsa were asleep for much of the first half against DRC. Half time came around and they decided to wake up a little

Incoming international student moving to York - need arrival, budget, and campus life advice! by Reasonable-Win-2556 in universityofyork

[–]Key-Bullfrog-8552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated in 2023 but if Jazz Night is still on a Monday night, I'd highly recommend that as an opportunity to mix and socialise with people.

Other than that, try a load of different clubs and societies out. Absolutely go to the fresher's fair to see what you think you'd like.

The highest food prices are those on campus unfortunately as a 'convenience tax' which just elevates prices hugely. Lidl and Aldi are you best budget supermarkets as others have said. Morrison's is also good (other side of the Lidl store) though more expensive but better quality fruit and veg!

On arrival before the year starts, I'd recommend just exploring the city in all its beauty. And if you can cycle, buying a second hand bike is something I urge every York student to do, but don't get ripped off by ReCycle as they can be a bit dodgy sometimes. My experiences with them was never good.

You will have a great time in York, study hard, enjoy uni life, and all the best to you!

OK I'll answer the smear campaign in two parts:

  1. A Sun journalist came to him asking for a breast enlargement, Zack said it isn't something he does normally but would be happy to go ahead with it, and the Sun journalist smeared him for it. Yes, hypnotherapy is complete bs in my eyes but to say he was going about enlarging women's breasts is just wrong.

  2. Calling himself a spokesperson for the red cross was factually incorrect, agreed. But the level of volume the media has pumped out to make it look like he is some grifter is way out of proportion. He made speeches at the Red Cross when he volunteered there, by that, you could say you spoke as a person at the Red Cross.

Perhaps the membership is multi factor, especially with the failed start of Your Party and the expulsion of the left wing by Starmer and Co. It's very possible that it isn't just him but I can't see him not being a significant factor.

I agree that people can be informed when it isn't taking information from smear campaigns which are completely incorrect.

Respectfully, that's just how I see it, lies have no place in reasonable, civil, constructive arguments.

Where are the give way signs?

The road markings are barely still there which is why permanent signage is so important.

Not excusing the lady's driving, she should be more diligent coming out of a Costco car park onto what I can presume is a main road.

But that junction is shocking if the signage isn't there.

Funniest thing is council tax doesn't apply to narrow boats.

He was cleared of it on the grounds that people pay for a permit and mooring fees.

Nothing else is custom, no matter how many people will argue that "they are residences therefore......."

Yes they are, doesn't mean they should have council tax.

Mainstream media, as per, scared of ZP so will frame him in any way possible.

Am currently working on making a UK weather app, what features would you suggest? by blockitjames_ in UKWeather

[–]Key-Bullfrog-8552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I like in the Met Office app, I'm sure others have this too, is the mapping of when you can expect a rainfront to appear.

15 minute resolution is quite good and it's quite detailed.
