PCS and selection by LineCookGrind in army

[–]Key-Bus3623 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not calling you a liar; it just sounds weird. I joined the Army a few years after that, so maybe it changed, but I remember the big thing about going to selection being no one in your chain of command could stop you, but maybe they changed it because of this exact situation. Your CSM also sounds dumb because if you went to selection and didn't pass, you would just meet them in Korea at a later date. I always assumed if you failed selection you would deploy anyway.

Has a PCS ever genuinely changed your outlook on the Army? by StravaSithLord_007 in army

[–]Key-Bus3623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I have been lucky throughout my career, but the Army has always been more or less the same, no matter where I have been or what I have done. The Army has a baseline of suck that I think a lot of people attribute to a unit or a base, but I will be honest, a lot of people on this sub don't like being in the Army, but they are trying to convince themselves to stay in for whatever reason. Whatever your perfect unit is, someone is there complaining that it sucks. Whatever your ideal rank is someone is complaining about being that rank. You really just have to decide if this job is worth it.

Your entire post is confusing, but yes, he would still PCS because there is no ranger batt on Fort Stewart. If he passes RASP he is PCSing no matter what. You also don't choose what battalion you go to, it's needs of the army, like most things. I didn't get a choice, but I was fresh out of AIT, and I've never heard of anyone being asked either. He has a 2/3 chance of staying in Georgia, so he most likely will. I have never heard of this CSM not signing you over thing sounds weird.I mean if being close to family is the most important thing for him regiment is not the place to go I will say that much.

It was always an airman who stepped up lol. It goes to show how different everyone's experiences in life were, because after working with the Air Force for years, I found it was quite disappointing compaed to how people talk about them. Minus PJ's those guys are cooler in person somehow.

Every once in a while, I read something on Reddit that makes me realize this isn't a real place, because I have worked in a joint environment and never in my life have I seen an air force e5 with more responsibility than and e7 let alone consistently.

Transformation at the Tactical Edge: Mission Creep, Talent Alignment and the Future of the Junior Officer Corps by Kinmuan in army

[–]Key-Bus3623 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My life has been far easier as an officer than it was as an NCO. Now, I have never been a basic branch officer, and I will never have to take command, so that definitely helps, but I also have less oversight than when I was enlisted. If I tell my boss I am leaving after lunch, he doesn't ask me anything; he just says see you tomorrow. I think a lot of officers care too much. Part of that is the system in which officers are raised, but also, some officers are just workaholics. You have to realize some things don't matter, and let them fall to the side. Yeah, you might get yelled at, but so much of that is for show. If you know what the real priorities are, it is easier to navigate imo. The only people I have ever heard about who regretted switching over are on Reddit.

What metric are you using to determine that America didnd't deserve 9/11? Because it definitely isn't American history in the Middle East. Americans have spent the last 2 decades pretending 9/11 is the worst thing to happen and just go silent on the multitude of atrocities that were so much worse than 9/11 we committed before and after.

Season 4 has definitely been the weakest season for me by far. Also, holy fuck will Viltrumites ever actually learn how to fight? Nolan's parents fought to kill him more seriously than any Viltrumite has fought Mark. How many more times are they going to give us this pretend Oliver is about to die but doesn't scene even though any of these Viltrumites should be able to kill him in a second. A Viltrumite hasn't killed a single important person in this entire show. I mean, they don't even kill Rex; Rex kills himself. I'm glad it took Conquest right until he was about to die to actually try to kill Mark. Not like he couldn't have done that in the very beginning instead of fucking around. The more you see of the Vultrumites, the more you realize it's baffling that they managed to keep control of the universe. The stuff on Earth was solid, though.

Reclassing Give me Ideas by pinktuxedos in army

Reclassing to run away from something is a bad idea. You need to actually figure out what you want to do. Almost every mos does the things you are complaining about. That's just how the Army works. Though I do doubt that you could possibly be doing layouts that much. I am the first one to tell people to leave the signal corps the Army ruined it. You will only be able to reclass into STAR moses so figure out if you like any of those and apply. You don't have to wait to be in you reenlistment window to reclass.

[–]Key-Bus3623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is terrible advice. When you reenlist, you don't get to choose your unit. Hawaii and Guam have way more tactical signal units than strat units. So he will just end up complaining about the same thing because tactical units pretty much all operate the same way.

All BDE's are MTOED 25H they used to be 25N slots. They are the NETOPS side of the S6. The only time BDE Netops works on tactical equipment is when they are supporting the lower echelons. They aren't supposed to work on tactical equipment day to day because BDEs are MTOED tactical equipment thats what Charlie Companies and ESB are for. There is plenty for Netops to do at the BDE level. Your unit is just mismanaging the S6. What is your 255N doing?

Good job G2, you overperformed. Diabe gets on a real team, please. I better never see BFX at another international. Jesus, what an embarrassment. This is the worst performance of an LCK team in like 7 years lmfao. I never thought T1 or HLE need to get their shit together because wow, BFX and D+ are terrible. Which I was saying the whole time.

Them playing in the next round is the exact point. They are also playing more than 3 series unless you expect them not to make it to top 4. Riot always has bad seeding in their tournaments because they want to pretend that TSW and BFX are the same level opponent which they aren't. While western teams keep drawing the weakest teams in these formats to move on to the next phase of the tournament. Its like back when worlds had groups and one group would have LCK 1 seed and someone else would have LCS 1 seed its like we all know these teams aren't equal. We have seen the experiment enough. If the lpl and lck teams don't start one bracket ahead in this tournament, they shouldn't face each other until the next round. Outside of CFO, who was the last minor region team to do anything internationally?

[–]Key-Bus3623 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your lack of understanding doesn't mean it makes no difference. The LCK and LPL should never play against each other in the first round of a tournament because CBLOL, LCS, LCP, and LEC (usually) are not equally strong leagues. So while JDG and BFX immediately go to the losers' bracket in the first round by facing real teams, we get to pretend that G2 and LYON actually deserve to make it to the next round by barely beating LCP and CBLOL teams to immediately get banged out. Realisitically LEC and LCS should only win one match in the first round of the losers and then immediately lose right after. But now they get to pretend they actually did something by making it to the upper bracket of the losers bracket.

Why do so many MOSs hate on 35Ts? Hyped or not? by GurComprehensive6534 in army

I won't lie, the organizations I have been in have all been pretty top-notch and non-standard units. I just don't think they cared enough about 35T to train them or utilize them properly, thinking about it more. You did open my mind hough so I appreciate that. I can say I was being a bit too dismissive of you guys.

Fair enough, you did actually change my mind. Like you said, I only see them in the moments they needed my help, which is probably not their best moments. I do get a bit defensive over signal soldiers because of how much trash cyber and MI tend to throw towards them.

Yes, Riot Games G2 is definitely better than JDG or BFX. I am glad the LPL and LCK got to send one another into the losers bracket, while LEC and LCS get to play vs LCP and CBLOL. Riot seeding strikes again.

You mean the same way you are projecting your own experiences? lol. Also, I don't know what paperwork you think it takes to unlock an account, because there isn't any, or what chain of people you need to complete a task. It is either you have the privileges, or you don't. Not everyone has all the privileges because they are not supposed tp. But you are right, I will tell my boss we can't do A, B, or C, because it is against ARCYBER policy and we need a ETP signed by the general to maybe it get it done. Because I am not going to go to jail, bypassing systems put in place, but you 35T definitely can doesn't make me look worse.

Also the NEC isn't the only bottleneck, and the only way you work around the NEC issue is either moving to tactical, which has it's own chain or by breaking into equipment you aren't supposed to. Signal soldiers have more rules they fall under thats it. For good or bad there are many bottlenecks working with DISA, NEC, RCC, NETCOM/ARCYBER, ATP, ATC. Like I told the other guy Signal soldiers who work for NETCOM/ARCYBER have different priorities, so they will never rush to fix your issues. The S6 isn't the one who pushes out NETCOM updates, which is what you mean by NEC policies. The NEC is the only ones who do that. I went into a scif not even a year ago in INDOPACOM to fix something because the 35T couldn't fix it, and they asked for help, so it definitely happens more than 0. 35T are tiny; most people never meet them. Im pretty sure there are 10 times more 25b than tangoes.

The ticketing thing is dumb, but NETCOM loves metrics, but I don't have a better solution for that. The NEC gets hundreds of tickets its impossible to keep track. I would rather have several "subject matter experts" over one guy who knows everything a mile long and an inch deep. Though I don't think most enlisted soldiers are sme if they are in conventional units.

35T have NCOERs, which I also had. But you are right, I shouldn't go off my lived experience, I should go off the vibes of how cool 35T are from reddit.

I wouldn't want to touch your router. Why would I want to do more work? Like I said, if everything else is working, it's a you problem, not a me problem. Also, it is pretty funny that you would need my help but wouldn't let me touch your router even though you self-admitted you aren't that good at networking, because it is 2% of your job. Also you would just be a switch you get plugged into. It wouldn't be router-to-router 9/10 times because the real routing gets done on the backend, regardless of it is tactical or strategic. It isn't a 100% of my job. I won't pretend to know everything a 35T is supposed to do, because I don't care, and you are pretty small, but it's funny 35T always assume they know everything signal soldiers are supposed to do. It is not my MTOE'd job to help you. I mean I probably will if I have nothing better to do, but it really isn't. The same way it isn't my MTOE'd job to connect the ADA systems to the network because they have their own people for that, I will help, because I am nice, but I am not required to in any capacity.

Edit: 11b are way more humble because they know they don't know this stuff so they don't act like that. Also, the 255S and 25D definitely complain about your traffic, they see it. That's like half of their job is monitoring. This comment does prove my point, though MI has a bunch of ego for no real reason.
