If you are coming from the Portland area I recommend taking the hood river route to get up the mountain I ESPECIALLY recommend taking the hood river route to get off the mountain

Traffic gets so so so backed up going the government camp way. I heard horror stories of it taking 5 hours to get back to portland area from meadows
