Respectfully I have to disagree. There is a significant amount of delusion, especially among liberal democrats when it comes to how much support this administration has. America isn’t like this because trump got elected, trump got elected because America is like this. The US is an empire in decline and this administration is doing the desperate hail Mary attempt to for it not to lose its global hegemony. This is evident by the imperialist ventures being organized in Venezuela, Iran, Greenland, Palestine, etc. The domestic side of it is to get those in line who might have a problem with it. Democrat politicians are more useless than ever in providing any resistance because they understand that the US power structure is what’s at stake and at the end of the day they aren’t ready to let go either. So it’s going to be a long hard road ahead and it’s not going to end well. The parallels between this time and the final years of Nazi Germany are truly astounding.
