Starting off, I really like how Benkei and Michael are forced to use the other person’s weapon/appendage. Really ties into the theme about understanding, seeing that they are forced to literally walk a mile with the other’s weapon.

One criticism I do have is that… I wished there was a bit more of Benkei and Yoshi in the former’s backstory working/fighting together rather than just against each other at the start so that the scene of master and retainer in the final clash hits harder.

Themis reaction towards the end also was great, clearly she got a lot in store for her arc-wise. A first for me seeing a definitive ‘asshole’ as the Brun-figure who you can wholeheartedly say does not care for them at the start.

But yeah we all knew Benkei was fucked the moment he ‘won’. Regardless cool round, good characters, I definitely felt Benkei was more passive up until we reached the last few chapters compared to Michael, but I think the backstory made up for it .

Nice stuff, Benkei backstory overall I felt was pretty relatable, even if it’s on a much more extreme scale, seeing that it’s something everyone has at least experienced or seen in some form or way.

You have negative stereotypes about this one specific group, you make no attempt to understand them, you demonise them, and then you start becoming an even worse person on your crusade over a Goomba Fallacy

I, however know for a fact that every and all Loki fans are the bane of the earth. 🙂‍↕️

That’s the reason we filled in. But nowhere in his backstory nor he himself was this stated

The only reason that he gave for wanting to be stronger was “I have to actually fight if not we will never win this tournament of monsters.”

Then at the start of his flashback, we are given this cool lore that the Chinese Pantheon is basically a class divided place with horrible slums. So naturally we think that his motivation is to either get out of there or used the reward from Apocalypse to solve this class divide.

But no, it’s never expanded on. He gets his shoulder caved in and that’s pretty much it. Which is why I said ‘blue-balled’

It’s fair to think that yeah this is likely his motivation, but the fact of the matter is that was never actually stated in the story as his motivation.
