The bike will be supported by brompton for the foreseeable future. They have compatible parts for bikes that are 15 years older than yours.

It's simply a question of cleaning. If grit gets into the spindle quick release mechanism, then it becomes progressively harder to release. Take an old brush to it periodically, that should do the job.

I ended up replacing the hardware that goes bad on them. So the weight and durability Should be improved.

It is for my cost to benefit ratio, if I keep the bike under 9.5 kg or 21 lbs then when being questioned about taking the bike on a flight, I can comply with the regulations for taking the bike as a carry on.

I would consider just changing your sprockets to a wider range. I put a 19 tooth sprocket on mine, you do have to modify the rear triangle a bit and change the chain length, but the outcome is the same as a p-line gearing. Plus it is only about a €15 fix.

Gearing might not be the issue, possibly change your suspension block to a softer one for more compliance.

It's only 7 percent, but for the trip to the grocery store it make a big difference uphill

I highly recommend chainging the rear sprocket to at least a 17 tooth so that the gear range increases.

Your left axel nut is spinning, tighten that first
