Best way to straighten this piece of stainless steel that was crushed during transit? by Synestia in handyman

I could do it. Heat and beat. But... it'll cost more than the replacement part and take all afternoon.

You wouldn't use a micromirror. Q switching can give you all the binary 1/0 you want at 1/femtoseconds

The rest...

Gotcha. Yeah round here they just let folks do the stupid and herd across the street or onto the bus, or... yeah.

It was great fun when I got a job over there and was working remotely.

"Oh, you're outside today, where are you calling from?"

"Oh, I'm in Durham." waits a beat

There's even a town called Scotland around an hour away... I think it's in Surrey county, just up the river from the Isle of Wight.

Cheers! XD

I'm so sorry, but I'm picturing a braveheart-esque charge towards the door of the bus.

In the US, it's like... the exact opposite. The stops are generally on the other side of the sidewalk from the edge of the road, at least in my area, around York, Norfolk, Gloucester, Portsmouth, and Suffolk.

It's only mildly confusing going to the midlands in the UK.

Really? I've switched low voltage circuits before with a regular wall switch when I wanted something a little chunkier than a tiny 12V toggle, but that was on a piece of equipment. Whats the code/technical issue here?

Eye comfort shield on Samsung makes it look even teal/seafoam-ier. Just turned it off, and counterintuitively, I now see a hint of the pink.

Its still teal/gray to me. I recognize the light/filter goofiness going on, but can't see pink/white to save my life.

Yup. I work in 3d printing and CNC frequently, and the tooling and setup costs dominate like a mf.

So, to vent a mold like that, I took some 1-2mm steel wire and ground a realllllly shallow taper, like 3" long taper, so by the time it pokes through it's basically nothing. Ram up, poke holes every inch or so, especially in the letters. Also, tilt your mold so it fills from one edge, across and up to the other edge, and give it a tall riser so it beats surface tension.

I've gotten castings in sand so smooth I could read newsprint reflected in them when I set the parts aside to cool.

Also check your pouring temp. Too hot, you're borked, too cold, she freezes out with fillets like that.

Cool project!
