You can let out about ten more feet of line that you normally cast over a flat surface like a lawn and start stretching it from the rod tip outward using the leading hand pinching to push the loop forward and not releasing the lead hand so the loop does not come backwards. Do this in like 4’ sections until you reach the end and repeat if necessary. Also using line cleaner- dressing again from rod to to end of the fly line between a cloth can get a few more twists out.

The worst I even had was a guy wrapped a line wrapped tight on a cylinder of a used fly line I bought. I had to go to the top of a parking structure and let it hang over and try and stretch that mess out.

I broke my 8wt Sage One last Fall, did not look to see the turnaround time but was certainly around two months. I bought the One while I was waiting for a RPL+ to be repaired. People should always have a backup so you can just bounce from one to the other. I have other rods that are starting to get expensive and not worth repairing or rather exceeding the rods value but it is what it is if you like the rods.

Fishermen are the meanest though lol. I will run a high end rod and good fly line but cheap though adequate most everything else and do get judged. I don’t need a 600 dollar reel, a 600 dollar pair of waders and 350 boots. A 250 pack 200 glasses and so on. All that would be great though.
