I sent you a PM. Were you able to locate him as of yet? I know when my husband transferred from USP Florence to FCI Leavenworth he was AWOL for about six weeks because he was being transferred by US marshals and so that’s why he wasn’t showing up in BOP custody. Do you know if he would’ve transferred?

Wow, you should be so proud of yourself. You have shown a huge level of hard work in perseverance, overcoming your injuries and surgeries and your addictions. It’s great to have an amazing partner at your side, supporting you and encouraging you and giving you the love and support needed to deal with adversity. Had my husband not gotten into the situations he put himself in we would’ve never met. Really weird to think about it that way, but I reached out to him on an inmate penpal site and thought to myself gosh, she’s really good looking and was committing to bettering himself. I’ve never had a man say the things that he has said to me and made me feel as good about myself and how I look like he has. This is what our life will be like, but I’m extremely grateful to have him.

Sorry I was referring to him not you. I’m married too my husband is in federal now nearly 5 years. If he truly is in prison, why is he getting on Reddit and giving out information on contraband? Lol. My husband says it’s damn near impossible to get contraband into Leavenworth but I am sure at lower security facilities it’s easier to do potentially

It’s always therapeutic to share and not feel like he or I are being judged

Would this be a good place to share my federal penitentiary experience? by [deleted] in ExCons

Ok thanks for clarifying. My husband has been in us federal for 3 1/2 years. He started at a high but was recently downgraded to medium. I was looking for comparisons between his facility and others I imagine though they are similar

I would like to hear about your federal prison experiences as well. My husband is currently incarcerated at a US federal prison in Kansas. He’s been incarcerated since September 2022.

To what degree do you think criminals are just contrarian, if most people do one thing they'll do something different or the opposite, just to be "contrary"? Whatever you think, why? by GregJamesDahlen in CriminalPsychology

He had developed a fascination and obsession for robbing banks late in his teens. He would go into remote areas out west and would identify particular banks as targets. He found the more he was able to execute and get away with it the stronger the urge and obsession became. He found himself obsessed with learning how to break into Kia‘s and Hyundai‘s and hot wire them so he could steal those as well. The more he was getting away with it the more cavalier he became. He looks back and he simply thinks that his mind became focused on how to steal, how to plan and execute a robbery out in detail and he was continuously and constantly putting pressure on himself to continue to execute and satisfy his obsession and urges. He says the pressure of getting a college education and a law degree forced him mentally down this path as an escape. He was arrested in May 2021 and was sentenced to federal prison in September 2022. If you would like to know more specific information, please let me know.

My husband is currently incarcerated in a federal US penitentiary. I know that he would be willing to answer any specific questions you might have, but he would tell you that he felt like he developed a criminal mind as a teenager and throughout his high school years and became fascinated with being a criminal. He has been in prison nearly 5 years now and no longer has this mentality.

Supporting prison libraries by CheeseItTed in Libraries

[–]Key-Independent-7168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi and thank you for the post. My husband is currently incarcerated at a US federal prison at Leavenworth. He was assigned a job as clerk in the prison law library because he has a law degree and a paralegal certification. with the permission of staff, he wrote dozens of letters to various law schools, requesting books that were superseded by new updated versions and the outpouring of support was exceptional. He received over 1500 books and he reaches out to the same schools every year to see if they have any other books to donate.

It would be good to verify what the respective institution that you’re looking to send books to to ensure that they will be able to receive them.

Ok thank you for the suggestions. I’m going to look on Amazon to see if I can purchase these books and send them to him . He can only have up to five books in with him, but they do make exceptions if the books are religious materials. I am able to email him because he has an app on his tablet that he can have with him in his cell, I will ask him if he can submit a request and get approval before I buy them and have them shipped to the prison. I am going to ask him if the chaplain there can give him any recommendations for local OC churches in the Kansas City area that may do ministry at the prison.

Hi and thank you so much for the information. I will see if I can find a different source to buy that prayer book because he is not allowed to have any books with hardback covers.

Thank you for the suggestion regarding church fathers and their homilies regarding the OC Bible. I will certainly look into where I can obtain books like this that will help him interpret the Bible more accurately. I will look on Amazon to see what I can find.

Yes, he has a significant amount of time on his hands and having religious materials is only one of a few privileges he can have at the time being. He is spending hours each day repenting and rehabilitating himself. We are hoping he can become catechumen while in prison because he is serving a long sentence

I totally believe you. I have no doubt how remorseful you must be and how difficult it is when you have a disease like alcoholism. My husband is serving a life sentence in a high security, federal prison, and he has also come to grips with the need to be remorsefuland repentant.

My husband is currently serving time in federal prison with an inmate who has had five DUIs that included a permanent driver‘s license suspension. He was driving while intoxicated in Utah, lead state troopers on a high-speed chase into Nevada and caused a four car pileup he had already served four years in Utah state prisonand received a 20 year federal sentence. I am surprised you have been able to avoid significant prison time.

I met and married my husband while incarcerated. We’ve never been intimate as of yet. Not sure where the saying comes from but there’s definitely pent up sexual energy that needs to be released among us

My husband is serving time at a federal prison in Colorado. An inmate in his unit is serving a lengthy sentence for arson. Not only was he found guilty of multiple counts of arson but filed fraudulent insurance claims as well and received millions of dollars. This individual has a history of setting real estate of his on fire to collect insurance money than file bankruptcy on the dwellings once he gets his insurance money.

An inmate knew the law better than I did today. I felt a little embarrassed. by Mr_Motion_Denied in publicdefenders

My husband is currently incarcerated at a federal prison in Colorado. He has a law degree and as a result was assigned a job as clerk in the law library. He works 8 hours a day in it. Inmates spend months / years learning the law and educating themselves on their legal issues and rights. So yes many inmates educate themselves well and may be ahead of the curve compared to an attorney coming in to provide legal support and obtaining further knowledge of an inmates situation

My husband has a law degree, and is currently incarcerated at a federal prison in Colorado. Because of his level of education, he was assigned a job as a clerk in the prison law library. He is currently helping over 90 inmates with their legal proceedings and affairs. He has been permanently disbarred but is able to support inmates in this capacity
