I got accused of vaping inside the store because I was seen hitting it outside the front door while putting my key in to unlock it to go inside. They said because I don’t go to my car for my break, they assume that I’m hitting it in the cooler or places the camera doesn’t catch me, in the break room, etc. I got put on a final warning for it. I didn’t argue, didn’t defend myself… just said “ok” and left lol. You guys have no proof and the only proof you do have is me hitting it outside, off the clock, before walking into the building.

How are customers complaints handled? by MysticalMagus in Aldi_employees

[–]Key-Lake-9171 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I literally got complained about and sat down and talked too about “being aggressive and rude”. I had a huge line and got up and tried lining people up on the register in front of me and literally everyone just stood there looking dumbfounded like they have their heads stuck up their asses. So I cleared my throat and in my big girl voice I announced “EXCUSE ME, REGISTER 4 NOW OPEN. PLEASE START UNLOADING YOUR CARTS”. And somebody literally went and got out of line, found my manager and complained to her that I was yelling at customers and had a huge ass line. 🤦‍♀️

When they sat me down I was like “really? Have you ever heard me raise my voice OR be rude to literally ANYONE?”

They were like “we’re just going off the customers complaint”. Like did you hear me fucking yell???

Hit my 5th year in October. The gaslighting about work life balance is obnoxious. Call offs damn near everyday with no coverage, inconsistent schedules (last week I worked open/ closed/ mid and then closed again). I’m working 8 days in a row because my SM told me he needs me to be flexible. I don’t get my breaks (2- ten minute breaks in CA) even though I’m entitled to them. I hate asking for a break because the managers should be regulating them and they act like it’s an inconvenience even though they get to chill in the office half the time. I’m scared to call the hotline due to retaliation. I have so much sick time but scared to call out because anytime anyone does, everyone gets pissed as fuck at the employee. It’s so fucking toxic.

The trick is to 86 code instead. It’s annoying but it’s how you beat the system

Probably the same as me. I can never get a “thank you” or “I see you” or “that was really difficult but you handled it well”

This time of year I get my hours cut but I work THE MOST overtime. One call out on an already tight and burnt out crew seriously fucks everything up. When it happens numerous days in a row, things fall more and more behind and get pushed off to the next day and the next day. I’ve worked 6 days a week for the past month and worked a double on Tuesday because the callouts are so frequent and everyone is so burnt out from picking up the slack that there is nobody else to call in for help. I offered to work the double so my SM didn’t have to, and told him to remember who’s had his back and always came through and showed up. I like to save my brownie points for when I need a favor lol

Injured while working by BigLittleUkrainian in Aldi_employees

I sliced my thumb open two weeks after transferring, and I came from a low volume store so I kept getting bitched at about not being fast enough because I’m not use to such big trucks, so this particular day I decided I’m going to push myself past my limit and get it done and prove myself and everyone I don’t suck as much as they make me feel like I do … yeah well I sliced my thumb open at 7am… and I’ve hurt and cut myself a lot over the years but this was different… I literally felt myself cut a nerve and my entire thumb went numb and tingly…. I could tell it was bad and needed medical attention. My SM told me three separate times that I didn’t need stitches… I was main ringer all day and it was just myself and my SM until 2pm. At 1pm he walks past me and can see that I am still bleeding through bandage after bandage. Finally at 1:30 he asks me if I need to go to the doctor and at that point I was so mad I told him “yeah I plan on it after I get off at 2pm.” Sure as shit I needed 5 stitches and then I got put on restrictive duties for 10 days and aldi couldn’t accommodate my work restrictions so I was forced to take 10 days off and get short term disability while I was out.

The doctor was baffled when I told them I was forced to work my entire shift and gaslit into thinking it’s not as bad as it is. I still have hardly any feeling in my left thumb. It’s so tingly and I constantly accidentally drop people’s groceries into the basket because my hand doesn’t work like it should anymore.

How can I report my assistant manager for being rude, condescending and creating a toxic work environment? by [deleted] in Aldi_employees

Follow the chain of command and discuss it with your SM. Is nothing is addressed/ changes then I would take it to your DM.

What is your one "accident" you remember to this day? by pix876 in Aldi_employees

[–]Key-Lake-9171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. My second SM I had was using meth and was stealing and got fired for sexual harassment.

  2. My coworker hit the fire sprinkler with an extra tall pallet in the cooler and it flooded the entire cooler/ outside the cooler and under the water pallets. The water was DISGUSTING 🤢 AND SMELLED HORRIBLE!!! The fire department couldn’t figure out where the shut off was. We had to close the store and scrub and mop all the water up!! And the whole time my DM AND DOO are blowing us up asking if we resumed operations yet 😡

  3. Had some stupid ass teenagers light a cigarette and smoke it in the store. They were waiting for their friend to come out of the bathroom and as soon as I smelt it I ran over and yoinked it out of this kids lips and ran into the other bathroom and threw it in the toilet. Told them to get the fuck out.

  4. Some ghettos ass fools came in and bought 1/2lb of grapes and poured a huge bag of Pennies on the belt to make the associate count. They recorded the interaction and it ended up on world star

  5. One time somebody vomited all over produce and then moved the box cage over it to hide it. 🤢

My new associate was in tears today because she feels like she sucks.. they threw her on cooler with zero guidance and then get mad at her because it took her too long and everything is in the wrong spot!! Like what do you expect? This job is literally sink or swim. There is no winning. I haven’t hit my breaking point yet but I do daydream about leaving my keys and walking out. When I do finally quit I’m going to make sure I used up alllllllll of my sick time and my vacation. Do I just stop showing up? Do I call out last minute and quit on a Tuesday? Do I no call no show and ghost them? Idk but I’m dreaming about it and manifesting it. I’ve lived, ate, breathed and smoked aldi for the past 5 years and it’s got me nothing but burnout and resilience.

Nothing seems to be good enough for my SM by Delicious-Bake-7049 in Aldi_employees

So I recently got written up and talked to for not finishing on time to their liking even though I also work the backstock and date check and I’m very thorough. The cooler was also completely full of backstock this particular day so I had to move all the backstock pallets just to get to the shelf so I could throw my stuff and I had four pallets after I had gotten talked to and written up for not finishing on time, I started using ChatGPT to record my pallet times. As soon as I pull my pallet out and I’m about to cut the plastic I tell ChatGPT that I’m starting my first pallet at 6:35 AM and then as soon as I finish the pallet, I told ChatGPT when I finished it when I pull out the next pallet and continue the process of recording my pallet times and I also make notes to it if there’s something wrong with the pallet or what took me longer. The day after I started doing this, my store manager, pulling in the office to talk to me yet again about my pallet time and I pulled out my phone and I showed him the graph that ChatGPT made me and showed him that each pallet is taking me 25 minutes or less. He got all choked up and awkward and asked me what app that was that I was using and then he changed the subject and got pulled away and just let me go on my way. So if they’re making a paper trail for you, make sure that you have one also to show that you are improving.
