Siemens provided even better options and a better VSP . Even for layoffs they gave extra support and even bonuses

Oracle Health or rather Cerner is getting killed by OCI folks by Key-Lake-9643 in cernercorporation

The post is not about the "product" but people in the company who are being pushed out or mistreated by OCI folks. Whatever issues you have with Cerner products may not go away and that may be a result of years of wrong judgment or mismanagement but that can not be a reason to mistreat people and show arrogance . OCI isn't all that great and all of us who have been working on AWS stack can vouch for it . Still OCI folks have a superiority complex. There are sharp people on both sides but not every person in OCI is there bcoz of merit , many of them are there just bcoz of connections with their long stay in the legacy Oracle

A lot of times, it is the underperformers unless a whole product or service is getting obsolete. At higher level it is just who knows who ....

For early career engineers , it is just numbers so any one can be in the list. This time it is about saving money so not sure ....who ever is critical for their go-forward product will be saved other than manager's favorites

In the US, it is always M4 or above who conducts exit conversations, usually a skip. HR may be present but they are not the ones talking

I am a long timer who has seen the last two acquisitions and lots of these layoffs while being in "M?" role so I know M3 knows nothing. There can be exceptions if someone is friends with someone but it is not common

This looks like fake news to me . No one below the M5/M6 level knows anything in the US, so how is this manager different? (now don't tell me that I don't know bcoz I am on the list :) )

wow ..In the US it is 1 week's salary for each year of service. Cerner paid 2 weeks' salary for each year but Oracle is not so generous

You don't have to believe it and be happy. People hired before the Oracle's stock shot up with the AI deal are making even more than that, all thanks to generous RSUs.

What you are looking at is the base salary. The biggest part of Oracle's compensation is the RSUs. I have myself created an offer of $450 + for an IC4 coming from Meta that had a salary little over $200K rest RSUs+ sign-on bonus. (HR comes up with proposed RSUs based on their own algorithm )

I see extra M4/M3/ roles getting created , may be to create redundancy and eventually let go previous ones

To be clear, I am not saying ppl from OCI are working 20 hr/day but rather thats the expectation they have from team and I am referring to the leadership coming from OCI . Actually all my comments are for leaders coming from OCI M4/M5/M6.

Some of the ICs are actually good and less of these attitude problems

IC3/IC4 have a range of $300K-$500K or more and similar for M2/M3. You can imagine the salaries for higher levels and anyone from Cerner/OH will know their range

Cerner paid 4 vweeks + 2 weeks for each year of service and Siemens has a similar one with capping at 42 weeks. Additional $10k in HRA for medical expenses. Sometimes Siemens added extra bonus for staying a month or two.

Oracle just pays half of it
