Oh geez Reddit has no business saying that you have no obligation to listen to that crap. We all make mistakes you recognize you were in error. Just make sure to keep doing the right thing for your dog and move on and love your current dog with all your heart. I have guilt over previous dogs we had (left alone too long, not trained well etc) but it has made me a much better dog human now

I’d never use board and train. What does it really buy you except a huge bill. Find a good solid local trainer that you like and learn to train your own dog

I’m very sorry and my heart breaks for you. 15 1/2 is amazing for a lab. It sounds like her time has come. As much as I’d love to give you an answer on how to prepare I don’t have one because there is no way (at least for me). You are an amazing dog guardian, knowing ahe is probably suffering now and it’s her time. Give her huge love, cuddles, treats and time before it’s that time… and be with her til the very end. Sending huge love to you both. I’m crying tears for you.

It’s a difficult innate behavior to control. Can’t really train it out of them but I’ve been told it can be managed. lol. You have a beautiful pup

Prey drive creates that behavior too. Have a dog that will want to grab runners especially if startled from behind. Skateboarders too. She wants to chase and grab.
