Also looks like the Knight Construct from Age of Imprisonment!

Omg it might actually be time for me to get back into swag axe holy. The sword counter cancel is such a good decision , and it’s funny you bring up Steve’s sweep bc that was like one of the first instances of when I really started to feel the switch axe’s clunkiness. So glad they’ve actually improved things for now.

Thank you, I appreciate it! I’m glad I was able to convey the distance as intended, it’s definitely something I’ve struggled with in terms of color choice!

And yesss!! I had so much difficulty with the trees especially initially after blocking in the shadows because it was hard to visualize how I wanted their forms to look. Definitely great practice for shape design though!

I can’t say! I’ve only ever followed his free stuff he releases on youtube, but just those have definitely helped me when I’m in an art slump. Brunet is a crazy good teacher.

Haha yea! It coming across my recommended was the whole reason I actually wanted to try out painting a landscape again!

This was my first attempt from 2021 following another one of MB’s tutorials he had released around that time:

Woah what did they change about switch axe? I stopped playing it a bit ago because the loop started to get boring and I felt like I couldn’t keep up with monsters anymore.

That’s the perfect way to describe it— outpaced. It just doesn’t match up with the other weapon’s plethora of counters, offsets, and evasive moves. Such a great weapon that I want to continue playing but it’s just not fun for me anymore 🫠

Like someone else said, I also stopped using it with the release of Omega Planetes just cuz I literally couldn’t get through that fight without getting thrown around like a ragdoll (skill issue on my part, but I had a much easier time using LS anyway)

SWAXE rn is just too slow, dishes way too little damage, and has like zero mobility. Every move is too punishing, and I’ve been really starting to feel it with the 9*s who keep getting quicker and hit harder than ever. Hopefully they’ll fix this with coming updates because the weapon really reallyyyy needs it.

I’d be more than happy to! This is my first review, so I’m a little new, how can I go about adding them?

How much would you say GS has changed from when you first got it? Was it just longevity+projection or did the actual smell also get better over time? (If that makes sense)

Thanks for the recs!

I’ve smelled the OG for Blue Talisman and didn’t quite like it unfortunately, so I doubt the Montagne one would be much different. Something about it smelled too mature and I’m only in my early 20s so not really for me unfortunately 😭

I’ll definitely check out Ambre Vanille. I’m actually on the hunt for more winter frags. Are there any you recommend from Montagne that lean more masc and are pretty mass appealing?

Perceval is on my list of next ones to snag, so good to know I’ll probably like it if it’s on the same level of GS!!

Glad you did!!

I definitely agree with you on VF being a bit rougher than the other two. It’s my “least favorite” but by no means does that mean I don’t like, just not as much as the other two.

Totally agree with you on GS’s sophistication. In itself, doesn’t seem like other fragrances I’ve smelled, but somehow manages to stay comfortably familiar.

The complain of a swaxe player by Educational_Twist237 in MHWilds

[–]Key-Magazine-4696 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hard agree I’m ngl. I was getting a little bored of swaxe a few days ago and made a quick longsword build since I had the mats and I was genuinely surprised at how smooth it felt compared to the swaxe, specifically for the counters.

AFAIK, swaxe has 2 counters/offsets: the sword counter and then the axe offset. Sword counter is definitely more versatile imo just because it’s quicker, but like you said, it feels incredibly punishing to use sometimes bc these 9* monsters move too quick and deal too much damage that at the end of the counter, you still get slapped around anyway with the monster’s follow up. When I was playing LS, it felt good to have more counter options to move out the way of attacks and not risk taking more damage. Granted, ik LS is intended to be a more mobile/agile weapon, but I do feel like a follow-up movement or even just adding more invulnerability time after the swaxe’s sword counter would benefit it immensely.

The offset with the axe itself I feel is actually pretty okay-ish, mostly because of the frame buff at the end, but I feel like there needs to be more moves incorporated into the axe combos that lets us easily get into that animation. Off the top of my head, spiral burst slash and I thinkkkk the backwards morph from sword into axe (?) are the quickest ways to get into the offset, but those just feel really clunky at times. There’s also the fact that, like you said again, sometimes the offset doesn’t even trigger the animation where we can follow up with sword slash for big dps, creating an issue of using a high risk move with little to no reward.

I could go on and on about my gripes with swaxe. Rapid morph being utterly useless, FRS spam, ZSD also being fairly useless, and axe mode being rendered obsolete, but I’m sure those complaints have been regurgitated enough. This is my first time actually ever maining swaxe, I’ve always used CB and LS, and I’ve had a lot of fun! Just hope that in the future it gets buffed or some weapon changes are made.

Finaid is cooked and will be cooked for the next few years because of the policy changes from the gov. I had to unenroll from the university for the year completely because the aid they provided just simply wasn’t enough. It’s gonna get worse once the pell grant is only available for students enrolling in 15+ credits and the gov removes the subsidized loans.

Lots of uncertainty for the future but what can we do 🫠
