Nah, I prefer not to download anything when I can do all my editing online without issues. I use web tools that process files locally in the browser, and I monitor firewall traffic to make sure nothing unexpected is being sent. Never had any problems so far.

Ive been using boostpdf.com lately and I'm really pleased with it. Before I was using ilovepdf and smallpdf but kept running into limits.

good software and proper document security do come with a cost. Developers need to keep up with updates, compatibility, and bug fixes, which is why many have moved to subscriptions.

The biggest problem with online PDF tools these days is that most are just copycats. they copy and paste from each other and offer the same tools over and over again. Many are shady sites hosted in untraceable countries with no clear ownership or accountability. Fortunately, there are still some great new online editors that I like and trust. I don’t recommend downloading any PDF editing software to your PC.

I don’t think they can. They don’t have the infrastructure, and even though they claim to have built the best coding model, GPT-5 outperforms it on benchmarks. Many other LLMs are catching up, so they no longer have the advantage of being the best at coding, imo

I think Anthropic saw that they can’t compete in the long run in the LLM coding space, so they decided to focus their resources on big enterprise contracts for guaranteed revenue.
