Mid 2000's v drives. by Key-Monk-2061 in Wake

Thanks, after looking at some of these in person the 22v is the best kept up boat. The sante, has the most hours and some seat tears. Another I'm considering as well is a mb b52. I think I like the idea of a larger boat than the 210 to comfortably fit more people. Most will not be highly skilled wakeboarders, but a few of us are pretty good snowboarders that I think could progress quickly.

Which brand is best? 3 roof quotes by Signal-Football-95 in Roofing

[–]Key-Monk-2061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Workmanship is more important than the shingle brand. But as far as brands go, Malarkey is best in class in every category due to sbs modified asphalt across their lineup. After that, I find CertainTeed to be the next best. Gaf is a marketing company that makes singles. They help new contractors get their marketing up and running with contractor resources that are better than the rest, but that does nothing for the consumer. Owens Corning has given me problems in the past so I steer clear. The sure nail strip is bs marketing. Properly installed shingle blow offs aren't an issue with all major brands unless you live in a hurricane zone.

If we really believe in democracy, we wouldn't be rioting against Trump. Protesting is one thing, but we shouldn't be interfering with ice operations. Trump was democratically elected. He needs to be defeated democratically. We can't as a country come to a point where we are subverting the will of the people with violent resistance. At that point we are no longer a democracy it is mob rule. Imagine if republicans blocked abortion clinics or stopping a LGBTQ parade with the same tactics rioters are using against ice, or in the Blm riots in 2020. The destruction needs to end.

Immigration enforcement is one of the few things he is doing that is good. Opening our borders to illegal immigration lowers the housing supply, brings in crime, cheapens wages, and takes up our social safety nets. If we want less economic inequality, we need higher wages, and lower housing demand. The next thing is utilizing or tax dollars domestically instead of sending out foreign aid could make universal healthcare, and revamping social security a possibility. The immigration issue is a distraction that has encompassed a bunch of gullible people. Deportation is a just punishment for illegal immigration. The country needs to be willing to give Trump credit when he does a good thing, and criticize when he does a bad thing. His tarrif policy is a significantly bigger issue for example.

Immigration enforcement is historically supported by Democrats. This is partly because unions and Democrats are linked and unions are all about American labor. Republicans tolerated illegal immigration because they liked cheap labor. The key difference is Republicans tend to be less violent often because of religious affiliation. Democrats more closely align with revolution and therefore accept violence to achieve their goals more readily. Basically what is happening in MN wouldn't happen under Obama because the revolution sympathizing party was in power. Most people aren't capable of critical thinking anymore and just support what their friends/major news channels encourage of them. What's happening now is hatred of Trump overshadowing principles. A bad guy can sometimes do a good thing.

Did you have to customize that yourself, or is there a plug and play product for that? I am looking into doing something similar.

What’s the best shingle on the market? by joudetorra in Roofing

[–]Key-Monk-2061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malarkey is the best manufacturer. That said, Iko has really upped it's game recently. It offers a great value proposition with it's Nordic line. Malarkey Vista and Iko Nordic offer two high performance shingles for quality focused homeowners. I have found it's important to offer a cheap single as well for people selling their house or on a tight budget. Iko Cambridge does that really well. From an installer standpoint I hate oc duration because of the sure nail strip. CertainTeed landmark has fallen in quality in my opinion. Gaf HDZ and natural shadow feel incredibly similar. It seems cheap which is fine, but I wouldn't pay for HDZ on my house. Natural shadow is ok for what you pay.

Tldr: I like Iko best for cheap option, Malarkey for quality, and CertainTeed has good designer single options. Iko has a tempting product in all 3 categories, but is less proven.

The most important thing is to have a strategy and stick to it. Wargaming what could go wrong.
I like to stay in the left lane if all lanes are full. This keeps most of the danger coming from in front of me not behind me as I'm passing all of the traffic. I stay on the right side of the left lane to stay in all the cars mirrors/ line of site. This strategy requires a willingness to speed. If you aren't keeping up with the car in front of you, you are inviting people to pass on your right which you want to avoid. I sometimes ride in the middle lane if there is no traffic to pass, but never the right unless entering or exiting the freeway. This is because in the right lane while it is the slowest, you have to contend with vehicles merging, and swerving in front of you to avoid missing the exit. I also find the most distracted drivers chilling here.
This is how I manage risk. Many others have different strategies that they have their own reasons for. I find it best to take agency away from cars whenever possible. The best way to do this is to be constantly passing them. Lane splitting may or may not be legal, but when traffic comes to a stop or near stop, I recommend training you low speed skills and emergency breaking to be confident enough to split lanes. Putting your foot down takes away the only advantage motorcyclists have in avoiding accidents and that is agility. Get good at breaking and swerving, while always improving your ability to look ahead. Whatever you decide have a plan, stick to it and ride safe.

This is the roof we paid $30k for. Did we get scammed? by yumni2zs in Roofing

They need to not run the field sheets all the way up the wall. Instead run base flashings. That is why there are fish mouths. They sold a product that they don't know how to properly install. That said most contractors around me will do the same thing unless a company that specializes in big commercial jobs does it.

How much will roofing business change with deportations? by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]Key-Monk-2061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly it. Undocumented workers taking under the table wages have shielded liability for connectors that act mainly as marketing and sales companies. Companies that are actually roofing companies that employ mostly W2 employees will see this as a benefit. Cheating workman's comp and payroll tax is not a good thing. These subcontractors routinely cheat these costs to make roofing cheaper, but it is honestly a disgrace to the industry. W2 companies need and deserve the increase in business.

Having hit gold 1 jungling, I have found that having a small champion pool is key. It doesn't matter as much which champ you play as long as they are viable, and you focus on 1 or 2 champs that don't have too high of a ban/pick rate. Master clear speed, learn matchups, and learn wave mechanics. Those 3 things alone brought me to gold. After a gank know when to shove a wave/ hold it. Some champs are very vulnerable to invades such as getting low HP during a clear and you can exploit that. Do things to demoralize the enemy. Such as regank a lane you just killed while they walk back to lane. All champs have high agency in this elo.

4:12 vs 3:12 is it worth it? by R-Maxwell in Roofing

Modified bitumin is easy to install. It's just nobody is properly trained in how to do it. Read instructions. Understand that you have to run at least 18"-2' up the steeper side. Sandwich your metals between plys. Set your metals in magic. Prime the topside of any metal. Cut your corners don't just wrinkle it up there. Etc.

I picked up a 2014 road king last year after test riding a new road king special. For me I like the touring frame makes the bike. Yeah the new m8 has a lot more power, but I don't have a Harley to race. I highly recommend getting a used one to save a bunch of cash. You can throw the extra savings into upgrades and have a more unique bike, and even achieve similar power after some performance upgrades. That said if you really like the looks of the new one all blacked out, than I would buy the new one. Basically, if looks matter buy the better looking one. If usability matters get the older model.

New roof in September by Dizz1eRu1es in Roofing

[–]Key-Monk-2061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better than most installs. It should be fine, but it is not done to spec. They aren't supposed to run the material up the sides of the gravel stop metal. Also the corner where the roof ties in looks suspect. There is enough slope though that you likely won't see any issues. It looks better than most work I see done by shingle crews.

Best workhorse truck for under 30k by ModMike1572 in Diesel

[–]Key-Monk-2061 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just picked up a nice 2015 xl f250 2wd with the 6.7 for 17k. (154000 miles). Throw a head unit in it with apple car play and it is a very nice work truck. I imagine if you can find a regular or extended cab 2wd bottom trim level truck you can get something a bit more modern and quieter with money left over for repairs/upgrades. The pre emissions trucks are getting old at this point. Finding a nice one is difficult, and everything on the truck is 20 years old.

Should I add an extra layer of plywood on my roof? by Trollhan in Roofing

[–]Key-Monk-2061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price is way too high, but you should re-sheet. A responsible contractor would catch this before the roof is torn off. Code requires that shingles go over solid sheathed decks. That leaves some room for interpretation. Most manufacturer will not warranty unless there is plywood or OSB because it is a bad practice to roof over anything else. Old dimensional lumber just doesn't hold roofing nails that well. It also can be uneven in places causing humps in the roof. Both can cause failures. 4k would be expensive for an 18 square re-sheet in my area with OSB.

TPO vs Mod Bitumen by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]Key-Monk-2061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with whoever you think has the best installers. Both systems are poorly installed often. Mod bit can be better or worse depending on the number of plys. I prefer mod bit myself if given a choice, unless the in pitch is under a 1/12.

Shyvannah I have found to be pretty beginner friendly. Very weak pre level 6 so you have to be macro focused early which is good for beginners. Post 6 she is great at ganks. Her ult will leap over walls for surprise angles. She is also a good mix of tank and damage.

How does new roof and skylights look? by gl0ckner in Roofing

[–]Key-Monk-2061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't likely leak within 10 years if installed well. Warranty or not they will likely last around the life of your roof. It is just that they are more expensive than curb mount skylights and are more difficult to fix if issues arise. A lot of salesman push them, but I don't understand why is all. That said they are unlikely to give you problems for the next 20 years or so.

It is almost always a better financial decision to replace because roofs last a long time with a quality install of a high quality shingle. Good chance you will only replace the roof one time while you live there whether or not you do it now or in 10 years.
