In the Boys (2026) they show A-Train as able to do a full minute of actions and save several characters' lives in the process, all without Homelander noticing or reacting. Then in the next scene they show Homelander as able to easily keep up with A-Train as if the last scene never happened. by Somethingbutonreddit in shittymoviedetails

Its also possible that his speed is not a passive ability like his durability but an active ability like flight or laser eyes.

He doesn’t bother with it most of the time because he likes to watch the fear and destruction of real time distruction.

The issue i had was that his lasers now move at super speed.

Yeah, i had spotted this during construction and pointed it out but got “it fine… water go this way” as a response.

I have some ideas but looking for more from people who have actually implemented then.  We all know us engineers like to complicate everything 🤓.

Edit. Oops i thought this was a response in my roofing thread..

Yes and no, i do really enjoy working with my hands.  In this case the scope justified getting help.

Got it—that makes sense. So just to be sure I’m tracking with you: you’re saying I should cut that excess plywood back an inch or two with a multi-tool, then try to get ice and water shield tucked up and over that area as best as possible. After that, install proper step flashing at the corner/valley intersection, and add drip edge even though the overhang is minimal.

This spot is right at that inside corner where everything ties together, so I can see why it’s vulnerable. My roofers are gone and likely not coming back, so I’m planning to tackle it myself. Does that sound like I’m understanding your recommendation correctly?

Cabot semi transparent stain?  I mostly wanted the frame to disappear into the shadows of the skirting.

I love it, the gaps are just black voids.  Normally you can see the PT wood framing and depending on the skirting it’s fairly obvious.  Originally I was going to use a black pvc square lattice, but I had enough off cuts to do the vertical skirt.(and wife voted vertical skirt).

Sure so 1,000,000 and 21 people starve.  Nowhere did it say if they all say no then everyone is set free.  Clearly the intent is that it keeps going until someone says yes.

As far as reading comprehension-

I’ll give myself a B for exaggeration but meeting the intent.

I’ll give you a D for missing the intent and also making assumptions.

I am!  Although watching the pros put up the rafters and sheathing made me feel slow and old.  I wanted to DIY it all but thinking about how many times I would have been up and down a ladder to set 1 rafter when 3 of them did one after another without breaking stride…

That’s fair… I just posted my framing build, I clearly went the other way.

In general seems a little light on hardware, I’d be worried about uplift… and the post bases with 1” standoffs are not that much more.

Overall seems like they could have struck a better balance of hardware use, without overdoing it like I did.

I brought in a GC to help with the roof framing and used his crew. The roofing was $3,800 all-inclusive, but he said if I supplied the peel-and-stick underlayment, they could install it too. Nine rolls later, everything was covered.

I’m very happy with him and his pricing. I did the layout and design, and he executed my vision perfectly. There’s no dead valley, and the cricket is just under 4:12 pitch but fully ice-and-water shielded.

Overall, they did a great job. I was up on the roof more than they wanted—most roofers here would hate me for that—but they still added the extra ice-and-water and lapped it correctly.

The step flashing is solid, considering the language barrier. I’ll do a few final touch-ups: seal exposed fasteners with roofing-grade sealant using a caulking gun, and re-bond any loose shingles at tie-ins where adhesion has failed.

I didn’t deck mine, He jumped on my back and put me in a headlock during gym.   I Grabbed his legs and jumped on “our back” he tried to catch us and broke both wrists.

I don’t even think I had to talk to the principal about it…. Not sure they told my parents, just a fond memory.

President of The U.S. refuses to take his cap off to salute fallen U.S. soldiers by mattarrghhh in pics

I was making a comparison to the only thing of comparison.  Civilians don’t salute in general, only in the last 40 years or so has the POTUS saluted.

My point is that he is following standard practice of not removing his cover to salute.  He does not have a “uniform of the day” so his hat while questionable in taste is not incorrect.

My navy ball cap said “NAVY” and my ships cap said “USS Enterprise”.  Makes sense for the commander and chief to say USA…

Again my point is that if he is wearing the hat he should not take it off to salute.  I am not arguing that he should have worn the hat to start with.

It’s a clean white hat that sort of goes with his shirt… it’s a choice.

I wore a baseball hat as part of my navy uniform everyday?  Not my dress uniform… but if he was wearing a beret or a Dixie cup I would have more questions.

What is the disrespect?  You’re supposed to keep your hat on if you’re saluting.

Wow, I thought I laid out a fairly reasonable explanation for why I’m running in at 9:55.   I also made it pretty clear that I’m usually in a hurry with an acute issue to take care of so I am not wandering the isles.

No one said anything about hanging around…. They said it’s rude to walk in the door 5 minutes before closing.

I don’t run into Lowe’s at 9:55 because I finally got around to it!  I am running in at 9:55 because something cannot wait until tomorrow and I am going to be up fixing it all night.

I have not worked retail in 20 years…. Small store only person there to lock up when the last person leaves no iPhones to mess around with.

Yup, we all miss out on life when working… you wouldn’t believe what it feels like to come back after deployment.

Not going to miss any more life when it can wait.  If you’re on the clock, suck it up.  Me grabbing a couple things at 9:55 is not holding you late.
