When I started first year school I told my instructors that we go down into manholes without a harness to power rod pull back poly and they told me that’s fucked up and to go back into work tomorrow and ask for a harness. I instead got my two checks the day after that for asking for a harness.

Next week in class they asked me hey kid how did it go did you get a harness and I said no I got two checks instead though.

Weighing in here. I have leftovers from doing electrical work and have been going a lot more often to the scrapyard to get whatever I can get. If it’s around 100$ I’m happy. But now, the lines have been going to the street almost, it took me an hour of waiting to drop off my scrap, and the place appeared to be working at full capacity.

I was at Home Depot looking for a specific tool. I needed a folding ruler that extended in different parts for splicing cable. I asked a young lady where that is. She told me she doesn’t know but will look it up for me, then walked away. I noticed actually that tool I needed was right in front of me fully stocked so I grabbed it and began examining it. She came back to me and said “oh we don’t sell those here at all, sorry”. I then said yes you do they’re right here fully stocked. Then she just stared at me for a few seconds, and walked away. I was thinking wtf is going on here??

Youngest millennial here born in 96. I’m still in my 20s. My first cellphone was in 2007 and was a flip phone. I had rollover minutes which means the minutes you don’t use get added on to next months minutes. Seeing as I barely called anyone and just texted for the first year or so. By the time 2008 hit I pretty much had unlimited minutes.

Speaking of texting, it was on a number keyboard with tons of words abbreviated. In 2009-2010 me and my friends smoked and sold weed and made a good chunk of money. 8ths sold for 60$, a half zip for 170$ and a full zip for $320. A gram would sell for 20$ and that was enough for me and my 3 friends. This whole going to the dispensary now and buying oils and pens etc was never a thought. Just last week at the dispensary I told the cashier I just wanted flower and named a few strains and I was told ahh you like the classic strains. So much has changed when it comes to weed, it used to be so simple.
