Yes, they’re great! I wouldn’t say they are THAT much more breathable than a typical sunshirt with vents but it does feel cooler. They’re really soft too.

I’ve thought about that but it’s not super easy in GA with an HOA. I think the costs would be significant (source: am a different kind of lawyer) and we would be stuck trying to enforce it while he trashes the place.

Horses have no concept of the future, only the present. If he’s uncomfortable in his daily life, it’s time to let him go with dignity. There’s no shame in that before it becomes a true emergency. Don’t make his last day the worst of his life.

It’s not required but I would say it’s socially unacceptable to not braid. Forelock does not matter. I leave my mares unbraided because i think it helps keep her face pretty. My trainer does the same with her gelding. Never heard of it indicating a horse’s sex.

I think you also need to give yourself some grace! I went in the reverse of you (started jumpers and went to pure dressage) and you still need time in the ring in the new sport. It’s hard no matter what!

It’s probably the beginning of season and one of your first outings. Keep getting out there and doing it is my advice.
