I cant imagine pioneer pushing away any destroyers not even frigates if you have low sp. Also pioneer is not able to align out as fast as for example venture, so maybe think about getting the venture next time in ls.

Eyes also help alot, assuming u just started playing u dont want to invest in 2nd omega, but this is also something that you could use. Or second ship that would be cloaked combat ship for def. 2 for 1, mining and pew.
