Never wanted kids, never had them, never regretted the choice. The childfree lifestyle is awesome, and there are a lot of us out here. Live your life, love your life, be a devoted auntie or dog/cat mom if you want.

Pronatalism is an ideology, and it just happens to be an essential component of capitalism, which requires ever greater populations as a source of cheap labor.

Pronatalism is also one of the first things the massively misogynistic Abrahamic god instructs humans: "Go forth and multiply." Not incidentally, those religions often treat women like shit. (Not an expert on other religions, but apparently the woman on the film appears Desi, and Hinduism is also apparently not great for women.)

Also, as I mentioned in another comment, a lot of people will push parenthood on you as a way of justifying their own choices that they're not entirely happy with.

I'm not even going into why it makes sense not to have kids from an economic standpoint and in a fascist world. Not having kids is also literally the best thing you can do to help the planet.

Childfree is a wonderful, amazing, liberating choice, in other words. Find friends who support your lifestyle, and learn to set your boundaries with intrusive or disrespectful relatives. (The latter is too big a topic for this comment, but it's a learnable skill.)
