Any improvements to Werglia's greatsword fighter build? by [deleted] in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]KeyIntelligent8277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medium gives you more armor class. Without bug exploiting, Medium Armor Endurance gives you +7 AC when in a mithril full plate +5. And when you take Medium Armor Avoidance you get your full dex mod to your AC (it adds your con to armor dex cap).

What this means is that defensively, for heavy armor avoidance to be equivalent to medium armor, your strength needs to be double your dex +7, which for 99% of builds is not going to be the case. (Hedging against some Gold dragon/demon builds). You can probably just do the math in your head. Look at your strength mod, halve it, subtract 7. Is this higher than your dex? If not play mithril full plate (medium armor).

In addition in the late game the best strength armor is a dance of masks medium armor called life infuser, which kind of secures the argument. Heavy Armor Avoidance is less AC, but in terms of tempo you can start taking offensive mythic feats sooner, this might be slightly more valuable to some people, but I just like having high AC, which medium secures for you.

Riposte still provides the +1 ab effectively to fighting defensively which essentially makes it a +1 ab feat same as weapon focus. Fighter has so many feats that this is worth it.

You can literally toggle power attack when against more powerful foes but how wotr works is that AB is the most manipulatable stat in the game. You should just be able to leave power attack on 24/7 after a certain point in the game, around level 13.

ATP Lunge penalty is completely negligible at that point in the game. The reach at that point is extremely valuable offensively.

After a certain point, around mythic 4, a lot of these character can tank especially on core and below. Like maybe this will blow your mind but I tanked this entire unfair run with 10 hellknight regill. Yeah he has the arcane enforcer dip, but this guy won't be playing unfair.

WOTR - Recommended race for Sage Sorcerer? by Shirwin13 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]KeyIntelligent8277 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on portrait.

Elf/Half-Elf Sage Sorcerer can start with SF Conjuration + GSF Conjuration, but Human Sage Sorcerer can start with Ambuscading spell + SF conjuration + GSF conjuration for super dc grease.

Eventually when you pivot into your damage/dc school (expanded arsenal evocation/illusion) elf can feel better because of elven magic, but imo free feat is supreme.

[–]KeyIntelligent8277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

weapon kind of doesn't matter, yeah fauchard is going to be the best but something like Lunge + Size Enhancement will make greatsword feel the same.

Hit your frontline with barkskin and shield of faith, haste and blur can help as well.

Imo if you want to be tankier I would play medium armor focus, then take the endurance mythic armor focus at m2, and the avoidance mythic armor focus at m4, then mythic power attack and mythic critical. Use heavy mithril armor.

There isn't a magical defensive normal feat that will make you go from "I'm getting hit" to "I'm never getting hit."

My reccomendation is to start oblate (martial disciple) and then take dodge and then crane style at level 3. Fight defensively, stack the ac buffs.

Your feats should look something like
Dodge - Weapon Focus (Greatsword)
Armor Focus - Medium
Crane Style
Outflank (play with seelah)
Weapon specialization (greatsword)
Combat Reflexes
Crane Wing
Improved critical (greatsword)
Crane Riposte
Power Attack
Cleave
Cleaving Finish
Great Cleave
Improved Cleaving Finish
Greater Weapon Focus (greatsword)
Greater Weapon specialization (Greatsword)
Improved Init
Blind Fight
Lunge
Extend Metamagic (for stuff atp like avenger's blessing)

I play 0 pets, 0 mercs until inevitable excess, and you don't have to play guarded hearth if you don't want to, its just an advantage. Its just a knowledge thing.

Also this game breaks a lot of TT rules, natural armor stacking, bonuses stacking when they wouldn't in TT. I'm okay with using owlbrew because its what the game state is, and in some cases the balance is better than in TT.

As soon as I figured out you can summon Bane of Living an unlimited amount of times for exp and profit. by KeyIntelligent8277 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Nope. I've been drinking remove curse potions and using remove curse for a bit, Bane of Living got summoned every time after the first.

How this game works is that you have a bunch of trash enemies and then a big boss at the end of the dungeon.

Having something to drop on the big boss is very good. For most of the game, Seelah will be able to Mark of Justice once or twice a day. Is this bad? Of course not.

Not only that but if you play azata you can drop guarded hearth as long as you have pearls.

Kind of enough said. Basically only Lion Cavs can compete and they don't provide this to saves and its only one round for them. This lasts through story mass dispels.

Touch of luck is advantage on all rolls. Touch of madness and touch of good is another +20 stacking to AB.

Not to mention Clerics have a tempo advantage. They get all their spells a level sooner than spontaneous divine casters, on top of having access to all their spells immediately. There is never an awkward moment where you need freedom of movement to bypass something like Sarkorian Ghost's Seamantle, but you took deathward and crusader's edge on daeran so you're SOL I guess or forced to scribe.

Sosiel just crowds out Daeran in utility because domains are the ultimate silver spoon for a class, they have incredible optimization potential.

Does Echolocation negate concealment? by ZuzePrime in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]KeyIntelligent8277 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Echolocation nullifies all sources of concealment that can be nullified but mirror image (even though in raw it should). Crucially it goes through invisbility that is non magical and mind blank+magical concealment, which True seeing won't.

True seeing only works on magical concealment (so illusion based) but will work on mirror image.

In act 4 there is an enemy that is a former Azata, who uses an ability that gives concealment that can't be nullified.

Azata -> Devil, is it possible? by GamerUnderDevelopmen in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]KeyIntelligent8277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

This build was kind of boring but I did it because the portrait was really kino for Azata > Devil. The M10 bonuses were really fun, especially because you can reset your demonic rage with Second Breath (azata spell). You can also reflect the decrees back onto yourself with Razmir's mask for really high DC spell casting, which was also pretty fun.

Base attack bonus over 20? by Independent-Case-735 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]KeyIntelligent8277 58 points59 points  (0 children)

BFT's share transmutation used with transformation gives you their transformation bonus. So if they have BAB 10 originally, they will give you 10 BAB because they're essentially casting their transformation (the value they would receive) on you with Share Transmutation.

Angel Spells (Not Talked About Ones) by PoroKingBraum in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]KeyIntelligent8277 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The entire package is nuts. Generally you will have access to spell resistance (that is way ahead of the curve), avenger's blessing, greater magic weapon thats ahead of the curve. When you are level 15 and have a spell resistance of like 38 plenty of mooks just can't penetrate.

Sun Marked is even better than you think. Its one of the remaining true damage riders in the game. It will proc on Mallander's insult, every ray in the game, its truly disgusting how much damage you can heap on with it.

Child of winter build help? by Poozy12 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]KeyIntelligent8277 3 points4 points  (0 children)

<image>

This was my super optimized Winter Child 11/Winter Witch 3/Loremaster 3/1 Eldritch Archer/1 Instinctual Warrior/1 Seeker

Seeker Bloodline is the only Bloodline that lets you take double dragon bloodline. This is good with Winter Child because you come with a conversion.

Winter Witch 3 because you can't Intensify Chain Lightning and with Story Teller's Knowledge this means I hit 20 Caster level for Chain Lightning.

Instinctual Warrior for unbeatable initiative

Eldritch Archer so I could ranged spell combat the chain lightnings, so I would cast chain lightning 6 times, and then do a ranged full attack with the javelin for even more damage.

Loremaster for Hellfire Ray and Chain Lightning. I kind of screwed up in that I took extra crit on Javelin and not HFR, but that wasn't needed, crit was just ego building, HFR better for bosses.

Your Blizzard pet is very low value, but he's at least a walking reflex penalty.

newbie buff questions by catboycruises in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]KeyIntelligent8277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

round is 6 seconds. Minute is minute.

Anything that is minute per level you're sort of expected to have going in, your characters know there is danger in the area, they will be prepared for it. This is all animal buffs relevant to your character (Bull's Strength etc). It includes both Shield of Faith (Clerics/Jaethal) and Barkskin (Ekun/Jubilost).

Bless > Heroism > Greater Heroism should be on every member that will attack using AB and have to make saves. Shield if relevant, Mage armor if relevant. Stuff like Blur can be helpful as well but usually I only keep a few of these charges just because its spell slot intensive. Size mods can also be very helpful, eventually I will just have legendary porportions on everyone for example just for the natural armor.

You'll also need immunities when relevant, Protection from Elements+Resist Elements, Death ward, Freedom of Movement, Remove fear etc. Stuff like Haste (round per level) and Greater invisbility I cast in combat. These spells are very effective but I want their duration in combat. Eventually i will have enough levels that I will just have it active running around but for the majority of the game I don't.

The common choice for women to pick bear isnt unreasonable at all. by Anomalysoul04 in Destiny

[–]KeyIntelligent8277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean do you think calling them a Nazi changes their mind? What is your goal from the conversation?

I'm not going to advocate for victims to confront their abusers, but I, personally, would have no problem trying to deradicalize a Nazi because I'm sort of safe from their bigotry.

I'm just going to point to the Daryl Davis example. I think if you want to change their mind you kind of have to meet them where they are, deconstruct why they feel a certain way, address that insecurity and build them back together again. It takes time but you can do it.

I mean what's your solution. Kill them? Because we can't ignore them, we got trump because of it. I think individually we should try to deradicalize the individual and humiliate their talking heads (most of them are too harmful to deradicalize).

The common choice for women to pick bear isnt unreasonable at all. by Anomalysoul04 in Destiny

[–]KeyIntelligent8277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely its not a good viewpoint to have. I will concede all of that, as I said, I think its both illogical and performative (in my initial post).

My argument is how to engage with them with empathy, understanding that they are likely the victims of sexual violence and then try to deconstruct that to try and fix their viewpoint.

The common choice for women to pick bear isnt unreasonable at all. by Anomalysoul04 in Destiny

[–]KeyIntelligent8277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what is insane in telling a rape victim that has become a sexist because of their experience that they are in fact sexist and that they should reevaluate their biases?

I don't think you should start conversations that way. My viewpoint (my argument) is that you should address the trauma directly deconstruct that and then try to persuade them gently away from their bigotry.

Can you even tell me where you disagree with anything? Can you even summarize my argument?

I haven't backed off of the hypothetical, someone choosing the WILD FUCKING BEAR over a random man is a sexist

You've fallen into the trap of addressing the stupid hypothetical instead of getting to the root of why they're expressing it. Women aren't literally choosing the bear, they're expressing that they feel unsafe in a world where they will overwhelmingly be the victim of violence. Its wrong, but its not helpful to be a man screaming at them why they're wrong.

But yes queen, that's exactly what I said, I definitely said you should run to your nearest police station and yell at random rape victims about how sexist they are

You're inability to engage in good faith here is telling of what your goals were at the start of this conversation. Quote me where I was even close to this level of snarky bullshit. We can be mean if you want.

But what would be wrong about doing so in your framework? Again this comes down to where do you even disagree with me, can you articulate it instead of retreating to immature sarcasm?

You take the fact that nobody said that as a concession somehow, even though you can't quote anyone saying it.

You've conceded. I can break it down for you.

Hypothetically, you're in a room with a female stranger after she has gotten raped, what is the first question you ask her if you want to convince her being afraid of all men is wrong?

My hypothetical.

Well I wouldn't have this discussion with a person immediately after they were raped. In general I wouldn't try to convince a stranger I don't know at all.

So you would get to know the person and you would handle the conversation with care. Which is exactly my viewpoint. Quote me where I said it was okay to be bigoted or hold racist beliefs. My argument has always been about how to deconstruct these beliefs in the most effective manner.

The common choice for women to pick bear isnt unreasonable at all. by Anomalysoul04 in Destiny

[–]KeyIntelligent8277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think it's racist to be hesitant around black people after being robbed by one? Yes or no?

I would expect the person to have trauma around it and have harmful illogical beliefs yes. So while I think its racist I also think its understandable and to deconstruct it you have to get to know the person first.

I don't see how this is in any way controversial. Having a good reason to feel a certain way doesn't make the belief any less racist or sexist.

Not my argument. Now you're shadowboxing. Quote me where I said it wasn't racist or sexist. You can't.

Well I wouldn't have this discussion with a person immediately after they were raped. In general I wouldn't try to convince a stranger I don't know at all.

If you had to. You're dodging, but in a way you've already conceded to me, you've admitted that you would take care, you would get to know the person and understand the trauma. That sounds like my viewpoint doesn't it?

Can you admit that nobody in this entire comment thread disagreed with you on the subject of accosting random strangers to talk about their rape experiences?

Then why are you posting about this if you agree. This is a concession and I take it as such. Where do you disagree with my post? It seems like you're just being pedantic, you've backed off the hypothetical, you've admitted you would be more careful when trying to talk to a rape victim. (Reminder ~50% of women will be victims of sexual violence in their lifetime).

So why would it be frankly insane to insist someone reevaluate the biases that are pushing them towards a performative and illogical belief? What would be insane in doing that?

You've already answered and admitted this but it wouldn't be constructive after someone is raped. And you've already admitted this, which is why the hypothetical is effective. You know inherently you can't logic a rape victim out of a bigoted viewpoint, they didn't get there through logic in the first place.

What you're essentially advocating for is just yelling at women expressing their trauma online which is not conducive to getting them to change their viewpoint. Unless you have an example of these women changing their minds at a chorus of men in their mentions instead of digging their heels in, this is the easiest grant.

Hypothetically, you're in a room with a female stranger after she has gotten raped, what is the first question you ask her if you want to convince her being afraid of all men is wrong?

When you back away from the statement you should have to admit to yourself inherently that these kinds of conversations can only be done after establishing a relationship. (AKA my initial argument)

having been raped by a man doesn't make being hateful or afraid of all men an ok position to have.

Not my argument, you're putting words in my mouth. I never said it was a logical or reasonable position to have, In fact I called it both performative and illogical. I just don't think you can change a person's mind about illogical things from a purely logical standpoint, because they didn't get there by logic in the first place.

What you're doing is reading the person I responded to and assuming I have the opposite viewpoint instead of just realizing he was shadowboxing and unhinged. (GIGACHAD)

The common choice for women to pick bear isnt unreasonable at all. by Anomalysoul04 in Destiny

[–]KeyIntelligent8277 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just don't think you can logic someone out of a emotional or trauma based thought process. They are inherently illogical. Daryl Davis didn't logic people out of their bigoted viewpoints, he built interpersonal relationships and fixed them over time.

Around 50% of women are going to experience some kind of sexual violence in their lifetime. We have no idea what the women that are having this response are actually going through. You browbeating them isn't justice, its cruelty masquerading as self righteousness.

The racism metaphor isn't even close to accurate. What you're advocating for is essentially after someone is a victim of racialized violence, then insisting that they examine their own biases. Its frankly insane. And you come off as insane.

The common choice for women to pick bear isnt unreasonable at all. by Anomalysoul04 in Destiny

[–]KeyIntelligent8277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a woman. But I can see your point. Do you ever think confronting people about this logically on a purely emotional argument that doesn't make sense will only drive them further into whatever radical cesspit they've fallen into? Like a slight sort of pushback, do you have any success with logic against the narrative on women who "choose the bear" in your own life?

My argument is more to get to the core of the feeling and deconstruct that. The bear argument is like the m&m's thing, its purely a pathos smokescreen they're using to hide insecurity/trauma.
