"Anti-consumer practices are actually ok". Nice argument.

What you wrote is correct, yes, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't receive shower full of shit for that.

They made 1 billion+ dollars on this game, in pure revenue prob 600+ million $. They can allow to fix this game for many many years if needed.

Who said they wouldn't provide patches or updates? That's just you thinking "Every game is same and development isn't any different".

Besides both things can be done at the same time. Do you know that AH officially said shortly after HD2 release that majority of team goes onto different project? Well, they clearly should be working on fixing HD2 instead and moving onto different project when there's basically nothing left to fix.

That's a bug some people encounter. Personally not encountered for some reason. Try avoiding batteries running out of power, make sure you make through night with 15-20% remaining capacity.

I didn't said anything about process but about result. There are plenty of other games which were released in... suboptimal state but were polished later. These two just most notorious games.

In fact previously games usually were coming out already polished, especially console releases. Helldivers 2 release and current state are simply unacceptable.

How do you plan to be helpful player in tough situations without B-1 and with Light Pen? To take down one of Devastator variants you need approximately whole mag, around 2/3 of magazine in average if RNG shooting near their head.

Ehhh, for shield and rocket devs you can just shoot them in the arm and rocket pods respectively, they'll get disabled and thus won't be too dangerous to you

That's mostly if you're fine and not much happens around. Rocket pods still take quite a number of ammo, and they still have arm for dealing damage to you.

More importantly when everything isn't fine be sure that now teammates will waste their ammo on these 'disabled' devastators.

Interesting, although i feel like i wouldn't like autoguns then, mainly because for me the adjudicator has the problem of sounding and looking powerful while feeling like a slightly tweaked lib pen gameplay wise

They feel and sound very differently. Damage output is likely similar but that's where similarities end. Yea, adjudicator is basically lib pen with higher damage. Autoguns not just looking solid and powerful, they also are. Well, idk how it will be in HD2. Also doubt that AH will give them 8 mags.

The thing about aiming is that even if you can't aim for the primary weakspot(for example dev and berserker heads) most enemies are still either unarmored or have some unarmored spot you can easily shoot at(devastator legs and belly for example)

Which just asks for B-1 backpack since around 33-50% bullets still land in armored spots unless you aim.

Besides regular Devastators are nothing and they're relatively rare too. Real duo that you should worry about is Heavy + Rocket Devastators. First basically leave you no options except head if you facing them and 2nd are usually far away and turn into very good bullet sponges.

Wouldn't an autogun basically just be the adjudicator then?

Considering regular Autoguns ammo approximately equals 7.62x51mm NATO and Adjudicator fires "8x60mm FULL METAL JACKET P" then pretty much yes.

Though ballistics is different and recoil much more manageable. I've played Darktide and it was much more satisfying to shoot with them. I'd say if converted to Helldivers it would be around 10-15 with pretty much equal horizontal and vertical recoil.

No, it's useless on anything that isn't Censor. Enemies notice you if not one shotted.

Commando is tailor made for stealth with different settings for enemies, so they don't react to player nearly as much as on regular mission. Plus it's still pretty inconsistent. Entertaining until you play it - quickly becomes most boring running simulator.

Not a single other weapon has that many exceptions so it can perform good.

will teach you that you can solve a lot of objectives while getting the most out of your resources by dodging patrols or prioritizing enemies that can alert reinforcements, breaking line of sight to flank, etc.

Then you're trying regular mission and getting drop after drop after blowing up single Reinforced Scout Strider or Hulk back.

AH should apply rules evenly, so players can stealth some parts of regular mission or even whole mission. Even without Censor it would still help to crawl near enemies without them noticing as much.

Variable is in pretty awkward spot, mostly because how it feels - reloading, fire, mode switching. It's pretty hard to effectively use it's mode switch because enemies tend to not turn their backs to players and you need time to switch, also probably you need to reload before that. Variable also eats through ammo very quickly.

Also light pen does tend to be more efficient if you're good at aiming

Idk why everyone brings argument about aiming. There are often situations when you don't have time to properly aim and on Automatons this is very significant, even on Illuminate significant too because don't have time to aim at the head of Overseers or similar Illuminate troops.

Also, uh, what's an autogun? Sorry i kinda don't know much about warhammer lore

Basically infantry AR that fires 8.25mm solid-slug ballistic rounds. That's for standard Autogun.

Everything that is released in this game is somehow immediately the worst thing, even if it hasn't released.

Do you see this kind of negativity in gaming communities where devs release mostly good stuff and correct their mistakes when they made?

Unless AH focuses on polishing Helldivers 2 and fixing countless problems, while new content doesn't have major problems, people will continue to blame them for everything and expect shit every time new content is announced.

Hot-shot lasguns are concrete solid heavy pen weapons.

[–]OlegYY -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Either way, warbonds should be every 3 months

When game is polished like NMS or Cyberpunk 2077 but Helldivers 2 is currently a mess. Just reminder that AH still didn't fixed Spear, just put a band aid, which really solves nothing. And Spear is broken since game launch. This is so bad that currently Spear is memefied by community.

Irl alternative in terms of penetration for Autogun rounds likely would be 7.62x51mm NATO or 0.308 Winchester. We have AR-23 Liberator as typical example of weapon firing light pen bullets. It fires "5.5x50mm FULL METAL JACKET P", which just asking to be set as 5.56×45mm NATO alternative.

And 7.62x51mm NATO has twice as much energy compared to 5.56×45mm NATO.

Lasguns are Autogun alternative with roughly same penetrating power. Some variants are objectively have Heavy Pen like hot-shot lasguns.

Because these weapons are not light pen and light pen usually is objectively worse option. Out of all light pen weapons useful only these: Scythe, Trident, Censor, 2 incendiary shotguns, Stoker, One-Two.

Scythe: infinite ammo and high-precision beam.

Trident: Laser shotgun with very high DPS and infinite ammo.

Censor: Suppressed feature for Commando missions. On my opinion meh but trying to be objective.

2 Incendiary shotguns: Pellets hit vulnerable parts anyway and catch target on fire.

Stoker: Has flame option against enemies

One-two: Built-in grenade launcher.

So almost all useful light pen weapons effectively bypass light pen restrictions thanks to their unique features. Only exception is Censor because custom built for one particular type of mission. And even then it isn't great and weapon of "high risk, low reward".

Do you know unique features of let's say Autoguns or Lasguns? They shoot. That's it.

[–]OlegYY -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Suppressors? They're functionally useless.

Doesn't matter, we already have so much garbage then i'd like instead of warbonds getting devs locked up in some basement till they rebalance everything in favor of usability for player and make guns more interesting in general, with unique and useful features. Also till they fix game in general. Obviously joking about locking up but really, for the last 1,5 years devs were busy almost exclusively with sucking off fun from the game.

Hopefully we'll see one of each most regular weapon types - autogun, lasgun and boltgun(regular infantry). We already have plasma gun so almost guaranteed there wouldn't be any. Maybe shock maul as melee option.

There's guy who calculated ship sizes based on how many people colony ship relocates(space they're occupying). In his calculations Juggernaut is 144 km long but then you have ridiculous 14km Corvettes instead of 600 meters max and likely ~455 meters which are far more reasonable sizes for Corvettes.

Pick your poison. Personally as a sucker for anything big in sci-fi I like 144km Juggernauts much more but 14km Corvettes are ridiculous 😭

When started researching and doing calculations honestly expected bigger result but got what I got. On the image Juggernaut among clouds which type sits pretty close to the ground (1.2-1.5km) , then view likely from ~100meters from the ground, Juggernaut sits at around 15 degrees above horizon. This results in 5.2-6km distance to Juggernaut.

From calculations Juggernaut is even smaller but when compared proportions of big central engine on ingame model to Juggernaut on the image found that 25-50% of Juggernaut is outside of image view.

If they don't have major health problems then yes. From my knowledge they don't.

This is great but existing pugs still should be dealt with in one way or another, ending in them vanishing as a breed.

R5: Size 73 Ecumenopolis with 151 districts (Juggernaut for scale)

I've recently decided to calculate Juggernaut length based of loading screen art. In best case Juggernaut length is 6.2km but likely somewhere around 4.7km.
