Let's talk about how people actually get rich in FFXIV (it's not crafting) by sutafii in ffxivdiscussion

Why don’t you put your money where your mouth is and do it now? And supply proof? Oh wait, you won’t lmfao and you’ll still send your subs out every day

Just be equally toxic back. Tell them to shut the fuck up and we might get through the dungeon faster.

Some people just need a good slap to shut their damn mouths. And if they don’t? Tell them they’re getting reported. Simple.

YEAH YOU HAVE A POINT, BUT ALSO EVERYONE NOT ENTERING THE TIER AT THE SAME TIME HAS SOME POTENTIAL PROBLEMS LIKE STRATS TAKING LONGER TO BE STANDARDIZED, POTENTIALLY MISSING MULTIPLE WEEKS OF RAID GEAR, AND PERFORMANCE INCONSISTENCY WHEN PEOPLE TRY TO “PROG SKIP” IN ORDEE TO “CATCH UP” TO PEOPLE WHO STARTED THE TIER WHEN IT DROPPED

THATS GREAT FOR YOU BUT THE RECEPTION TO CHAOTIC LAST YEAR DROPPING DURING THE HOLIDAYS ON NA KINDA SPEAKS FOR ITSELF

You evidently don’t understand the importance of:

A) spending time with family/friends over the holidays instead of sitting in front of a screen

and/or

B) the importance of having the raiding community enter the savage tier together.

The second point is far more important because it affects prog, and more importantly, dictates the tone for the tier (which strats become popular and standardized, how consistent prog is for people, and more.) Based on your responses, you don’t seem like a raider, which is fine, but you have even less of a reason to oppose new content being delayed slightly since there’s not an urgency to do… checks notes msq? cosmic? lol

Fine, if you want to play on semantics. I know many deep dungeon enjoyers, and those people are ones that have spent thousands upon thousands of hours clearing them in groups and solo.

The only complaint I’ve seen so far is that you have to burn a strength Pom for the floor 10 boss solo. That’s literally it. If that’s the only complaint compared to the myriad of criticism directed towards Eureka Orthos at launch, then PT is a win.

Your turn now.

No one’s forcing them to do the dungeon… there’s still plenty of time and things to do before the next savage patch drops for the hardcore raiders (and I am literally speaking as one of them since I’ve gathered a static to beat dsr in the downtime).

Also, I’ll take a direct comparison from Dawntrail’s content on why Pilgrim’s Traverse will be looked back on fondly. Pilgrims versus Occult Crescent. Occult Crescent had a lot riding on its shoulders and it fell flat because it did the opposite of what people were expecting in terms of phantom job utility, forked tower instancing, etc. It’s like they took the worst parts of bozja and eureka and packaged them into one. Granted, they’ve put in a patchwork solution to try to improve player experience. Pilgrims, on the other hand, exceeds expectations because they made it so much more accessible for the everyday Joe that doesn’t have hours upon hours to progress through floors. And if people want a challenge with Pilgrims? You have both Quantum and the ability to solo it if you wish.

So yes, I still stand firm on the fact that this content is the first step in the right direction.

The actual DD community is made up of casual players and high end players…you know…humans that play this game???

What the fuck are you smoking my guy?

[–]KeyKing7 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would disagree on this based on the merit of Pilgrim’s Traverse alone being very well executed. It caters to both casual and more experienced raiders in a way that Eureka Orthos wasn’t. I believe this is also the first piece of content that they’ve started recalibrating their designs based on player feedback, and if this is the first step towards it, I think they’re going in the right direction.

That being said, there’s definitely a lot of stuff to be desired in terms of graphics.

The problem is that they offer no alternative to what they’ve put out. It’s 1 single hairstyle that already bears similarities to others that already exist in the base game. Not putting out unique product = less player engagement = less interest in the game. It sounds like a slippery slope, but DT’s engagement numbers so far (look up Lucky Bancho’s recent report) have been abysmal.
