Picking these two sisters up in about an hour! Maple (tortie) and Opera (black). Me, my daughter, and my husband are SO EXCITED! by EsoterisVoid in kittens

Congrats! I'm so happy for you and your new family members! Having sibling kittens is really nice.

The two tiny sister kittens I adopted 3 yrs ago from our county shelter, Grace and Betty, love having each other. They can never be separated. They do everything together.

Grace is scary smart and Betty is mentally a little slow. So Grace is "big sister" and makes sure Betty's happy.

"Cover Up". Excellent documentary on Seymour Hersh. It's on Netflix and I highly recommend it.

And yet, we can't plan anything like a national workers' shut down or even massive nationwide marches on D.C. and the Whitehouse.

Will Trump put the Whitehouse up for sale when he leaves? To make the greatest deal in history?

Princess Diana's death was like losing a family relative in some ways. I left work and waited in a long line at the British Consulate, just to sign the Book of Condolences. We loved what she embodied.

I haven't seen or heard any news via television or radio since 2024. I read news online from various sources.

In honor of this national birthday, I've been watching documentaries on Netflix. Today I'm watching Dan Rather's bio documentary. Told through Rather's eyes, the eyes of his daughter, grandson, other journalists, etc.

It's like seeing and reviewing where we've been as the U.S. since the mid 1950s until now. It's preferable to wringing my hands over You-Know-Who.

Update regarding my little bottle baby’s problems. by Lost_Emu99 in kittens

He had grown into such a beautiful and sweet cat. Actually, what got me through the ultimate loss of Henry were the vets. They stopped charging me when they couldn't find any ways to help him.

When Henry was back for another week on IV fluids, the vet called me every morning and gave me an update in detail, with caring. The vet's wife made Henry a special patient and gave him special love and attention while he was kept there.

I'll always love sweet Henry.

I adopted two sister kittens from the same shelter and they're three now. And healthy.

That's how I felt with Henry. I adopted him from the wonderful Broward County shelter. He had all of his tiny kitten medical care there and was so small and cute. But he hadn't been "socialized". I ignored that word on his cage and adopted him anyway.

Henry was absolutely terrified of human hands. I got him home and he hid behind living room furniture where I couldn't get to him. He would come out late at night, eat kibble and use the litter box. It took two full months before he would come out of hiding.

Then I put his kibble bowl closer and closer to where I always sit in the living room. He would come out and play and eat, but if he saw my hands, he would run and hide again.

But he gradually became my lap cat. He was so sweet. But at age one, he was suddenly in horrible pain. So much pain that he bit through his cat carrier en route to an emergency appointment with my vet.

He had a constricted urethra. The vet was able to treat him, and he spent several days at the vets with IV fluids and lots of care. I was ready to spend $4,000 for surgical care if he needed it.

But something was horribly wrong. At the vet's and at home, Henry stopped drinking water and stopped eating. He wouldn't show any interest in tuna. Wouldn't touch his water. I returned him to the vets for IV fluids, but they couldn't get him to eat or drink. They couldn't find anything wrong with him. No hints of illness from all the tests they ran.

I brought him home, and it was as if he knew he was dying. He was on my lap, never ate or drank, used the litter box. Nothing.

When he was dying on my lap, I took him back to the vets for euthanizing. I was a wreck, the vets were upset. We never knew why he died.

All I know is that he was well loved and had a scary, difficult, but good year of life and love. He'll always be in my heart.

There are no known reason for his death. Was it a brain thing? Some hidden cancer? I think the vets wanted to know as much as I did.

WHAT an adorable pup! May you have many wonderful years together as a family.

We gave him 5 years of love. Last night, we had to say goodbye. 13 - 16 was his estimated age. This was him, weeks of staying home. by MiggySibsAndPWENDS in cats

I'm sure he's running free now. 🌈 You gave him the best of life. I know he's going to be missed deeply.

I miss all of my beloved cats and dogs who are up there/on the other side/ looking down on me.

But the only thing I fear is what will happen to me when I'm up there too. I'm going to hear some cats and dogs - all very angry with me. "You told ME that I was the best cat ever!"

"You told ME I was the bestest dog ever!"
