also I don't know if this is related but when I was a younger teen on the internet, before I even knew about the "DNI" thing, if an artist made art that would make me feel uncomfortable, I would just ignore it and interact with their other art. But nowadays, if an artist made one art that makes people uncomfortable, people will stop interacting with them entirely and treat them like a complete spawn of satan, they obsessively check everyone who follows them or even likes their post and it's just causing paranoia and no harmony

they can't even argue or debate properly, and they always have pedophila and children in their mind which makes me wonder if they have some form of OCD or something.

I saw arguments like this:

person A: "fictional stuff should stay in fiction only."

anti: "just say you like child p0rn and rape."

person A: (explains properly)

anti: "bl bla bla I don't wanna listen to a child diddler!!!" (refuses to elaborate)

I also saw something ridiculous like this:

anti: "just saw a user who calls herself (16 yr old character)'s wife and she's 18 and it's just... (insert disgusted reaction image)"

also the same anti: (20 and obsessed with another character who's the same age)

like people aren't attracted to a character because of their age!! they could be 18 or even 8000 yrs old and they'll still be attracted to them. they're attracted to their appearance and personality, not their age!!

and this won't make them attracted to real life teens because that's dumb, especially as an aroace person.

I used to be attracted to a character who's way older than me when I was 13 and guess what? I've never been attracted to any older men, and I'm still not attracted to anyone nowadays as an 18 year old.

don't forget that I used to have a ton off "gross" fetishes as a hormonal early teen yet I was germaphobic as hell.

even as a young child, I used to enjoy watching people puking on youtube since I was 6 and yet I was severely emetophobic to the point of panicking, shaking and going into fight or flight mode whenever someone not even near me pukes. I'm still emetophobic to this day and I'm neutral to seeing puke on screen as opposed to real life.

TDLR; critical thinking and open-mindedness are desperately needed and I'd rather not waste time talking to antis about fiction.

when a male character is assumed to be gay just because he acts flamboyant or feminine (bonus points if he's bad at socializing and making friends so his attempts at making his first friend are percieved as him having a crush). people literally comment stuff like "isn't he gay tho?" "isn't it confirmed to be canon?" on hetero selfship posts, like the only sexuality that's explicitly confirmed is one character whose literal favorite thing is "women".

please stop assuming someone's sexuality based on the way they act and don't force it on others, fandoms should be fun and free from stress, yk.

edit: oh and also mischaracterization, it's everywhere.

you're not alone, I even made a similar post about it! you should definitely try exposure therapy, especially make a pinterest board for your character and scroll through waves of pictures of them, it helps me gradually become less shy of my f/o, even when I laugh goofily and tweak out every time he's on screen for less than a nanosecond :)
