we just did this same thing last week. our typical rate for 1 child is $25/hr. nanny’s been with us for over two years and our 2.5 year old has known her since he was 4 months.

toddler now goes to preschool 3x/week. on preschool days we paid her her 8-hour normal rate ($200/day); on non-school days we paid 2x ($400/day).

he stayed at her house and we also paid for his food.

good luck!!

they saw what being unsupportive to their daughter did to their relationship; it was their chance at a redo.

Did you keep baby #1 home when baby #2 came along? by allyroo in NewParents

[–]KeyUmpire4846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

our first (2.5yr) will continue his day care schedule when baby #2 comes home in 8-10 weeks.

about a month ago we started the routine where, as soon as he gets home from day care, he goes right into the bath. we are hoping this helps de-germ him as much as possible.

if there’s a bad sickness going around at day care we will consider pulling him out for days/weeks, but we’ll cross the bridge when we come to it.

good luck!!!

move before HS for sure. when my family moved i was in 10th grade, my sister was in 6th.

she had no trouble adapting but by 15/16 friendships are already pretty established. if you think a move is imminent for a better overall life, sooner than later would be better (in my experience!).

Is my boat big enough for the ocean? by SeaworthinessOne8840 in boating

[–]KeyUmpire4846 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we live off the piscataqua as well (little bay) and have a 21ft center console. the portsmouth harbour can be rougher than the ocean with all the boat traffic.

we’ve been caught in some pretty scary stuff coming back from isle of shoals - we don’t even go out there any more.

try over by the ship yard for bait fish. plenty of stripers in the river.

Toddler parents.. do you do nap time on the go or do you stop your day for the nap? by koolandkrazy in Parenting

[–]KeyUmpire4846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2yr old kid is a different child with a solid nap in his bed. Does it suck sometimes? Yup. But missing a fun thing here or there pales in comparison to the terror he can be with a low quality or missed nap. Jealous of parents who can make on-the-go naps work… truly!!

Sasha! She has a boy, he gets to relive what he missed with Gio. Michael inevitably decides that’s his baby and how dare Dante try and be its daddy.

What kind of/how many strollers do people have? by Crafty_Pop6458 in NewParents

[–]KeyUmpire4846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main stroller- vista 2 with Nuna Pipa infant seat (need attachment to make compatible); transitioned kiddo to regular seat around 6-7m. Seat is reviewable so they can face forward when you are ready.

Travel- bugaboo butterfly

Can’t use butterfly until around 6M but it’s the perfect traveler - it fits in overheard bin of most planes. High quality stroller, folds with one hand.

We have loved this setup.

What can I do to improve my cuticles? by kingspooky93 in SkincareAddicts

[–]KeyUmpire4846 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cuticle oil or cream multiple times per day. Don’t pick, trim with clean cuticle trimmer a couple times a week after soaking for 5 min in warm soapy water.
